Re: Munster v Toulouse
Toulouse will take that score at HT. And we'll be delighted with it, down to 14 after 3 minutes and they haven't troubled our line yet. They have the ability to turn the game on its head, it's up to Munster to keep the score ticking over even if Toulouse take the lead. Only because of some very cyn...

Murray kills the teams he plays for. His game isn't compatible with modern styles. He's got some great breaking options outside him in Carbery, DDA, Farrell, Earls, Haley but he doesn't care. Never has.

Re: U.S. politics thread and Joe Biden-the Ronan O'Gara of U.S. Presidents
Becoming common knowledge most of the people that stormed the Capitol will not be getting jail time. Prosecutors in the D.C. Court have started off with grand rhetoric on charges but judges are starting to have none of it laid next to the evidence. Upon investigation the most they can charge a lot ...

I thought Lamour was decent enough last time out. We just have to lower our expectations. He's not the world beater he was being made out to be when the bandwagon was being pimped up.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Can complain about coaching but the Munster pack is chock full of bang average players and the halfbacks have been inconsistent at best this season, that being generous. The Munster front 5 really is hamstringing them. They’re good in the lineout and have decent ball carriers and physical defenders...

It's easy to forget how amazingly brilliant that series was. Brilliant scripts, even better acting, full of proper laughs.

McGrath is a brilliant front-foot SH, a great "petit general" (a phrase rapidly reaching "cordite" status) and the best covering defensive 9 in Ireland. He has a very reliable boot to boot. He just has these inexplicable down days when he's behind play, he goes wrong side with the pass his radar and...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Apparently Larkham says "it was fairly evenly matched throughout the game" about the league final. How can Munster get anywhere if the coaches believe that? I don't think the gap was that big. The big difference was ambition. Munster played conservative because that's what their big-time charlies l...

I hope it was a blip but ROL had his passing badly exposed yesterday. I think we need a skills coach as alot of these young lads are presenting with the same problem Yep agreed. There a lack of drawing the man and throwing a decent pass out in front that makes no sense to me. It's a basic. Similarl...

Re: Showpiece of the year, Leinster v Munster
Munster are being a bit hard on themselves. There were stretches of the game when they were winning the gainline, it wasn't all Leinster dominating collisions. They defended really well and the setpiece was solid bar some silly buggers at scrum time. Maul was very good. Problem for me is that it's a...

Re: France are just not that good
France missed Jalibert, imo. N'Tamack is not all that, yet anyway. Vaka's offload for the great 2nd half try was quality, but a lot of the rest really inhibited France's attack. He was indecisive and a bit laboured for most of the whale in attack. France weirdly looked better before he came back fro...

I think you're doing a disservice to the generation who have been schooled since the GFA, the dinosaurs dragging the place back in time are the same dinosaurs who were there in 1998, the apathy of the people in their 20s-early 30s towards SF and the DUP shows that. Really? What has this generation ...

I think it's massively premature for a referendum on NI. The GFA has been an enormous success, in terms of establishing a demilitarisation in NI. But it's been piss weak in terms of cooperative political administration and societal reform, to achieve the greater goal of an end to division and, well...

This whole thing of Leinster needing to focus on the Euro cup game and players not being dialled in is just not going to happen. Never has. Just ask Llanelli. Watching the game again, there were a number of English players who were not up for it. Genge himself did absolutely feck all.
But he wasn't alone, there's something going on in that camp methinks.
