Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Is he trying to get the more versatile backs onto the park so he can have a 6/2 bench? Any question marks on Manu's fitness having an influence? JJ as 13 cover, presumably Slade cover 12 and 15. If so, why a lock at 6 and a 7 at 8? Not sure why so much lock cover if there already 3 on the pitch. I ...

I can’t see how putting Earl at 8, Curry at 6 and Thorley on the wing is worse.
Under EJ, England have 43% win rate when Lawes starts at flanker.

Re: England v Ireland warm up thread

Daly for Furbank is hardly a downgrade. Sure, he can be ropey under the high ball, but it's likely that Furbank would have been heavily tested there, so no real change. JJ on the wing seems a bit more odd, though, No other fit wingers in the squad? Furbank is still largely unknown at 15 but at leas...

It's a team with 2 proper flankers, 2 proper centres and 2 proper wingers, looks fine if you just jumble them round to wear the right numbers.

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

It's not uncommon for a player to drop off when they arrange to move clubs. There can be less incentive for them to be working hard every week, care less about maintaining your spot in the club squad etc. I can't think of that many examples in club rugby. Daly, Hughes, Te'o? Just from the last year.

That pack's looking a lot better than last week's. Quite aside from an actual tri of back rowers, Kruis over Ewels is a huge upgrade. Bench, I'm less sanguine about. Is LCD injured? Fail to see how Dunn ahead of him is a good idea otherwise. Never a fan of a 5 -2 split, particularly if you don't ha...

Marler to Genge was night and day. Thought Genge was the pick of the forwards actually, even if he only had to do it for 20 rather than 60. I think he needs to start for his carrying if we're going to persist without a no. 8.
