Re: The Training Thread

My new goal is to attain "Bane-mode" - huge shoulders, traps and delts. The shrugging begins tonight! :smug: I have some thoughts on this. Firstly, read anything by Jim Wendler about building a 'yoke' as he calls it. At least a couple of articles knocking around out there. Secondly - my perception ...

There's some bint at my kids swimming lessons who videos her daughter. Every f**king lesson. 30 minutes each time.

That's an epic 21st birthday party video.

Re: Favorite beers - Official thread

Anytime you are near Suncorp Stadium or just need a reason to visit Milton can highly recommend the Scratch Bar - always interesting selection of 5 beers on tap which the boys are happy to let you taste first and its bring your own food! Good beer list. It's a great shame in Australia that good bee...

The Scratch Bar is run by some mates of a good mate of mine. My bucks night is 3 weeks away. We're starting there. Then off to Archive. And yes, Mungo, it's possibly Brisbane's best bar, IMHO. Love the beer selection and the fact you can get away from the main area and retire to the cellar next door...

Re: Favorite beers - Official thread

The Yeastie Boys are good Wellington lads, though I think their beers are still brewed by contract at Invercargill Brewery, who produce some damn fine ales in their won name. They use one of 3 breweries and rotate with the 8 Wired folk and some other guys. Freewhelan, it's on tap at Archive Beer Ba...

I got a growler of this. Yeastie Boys Gunnamatta Tea Leaf IPA. Very tasty. Tastes very floral and, well, like Earl Grey Tea.

Deadlifts are key. My new favourite exercise (my old favourite were squats). The good thing about these big compound moves is that after a while you actually begin to love them and look forwards to them. I look forwards to deadlift day more than any other workout. I just love the feeling ...

wonder where Ennis's hurdle time would place her in this hurdles event - she was low 12's wasnt she? and none of the hurdlers in these qualifiers have come close to that yet 12.54 would have won Gold in Beijing!! Re: The all new Photography thread - post your best efforts

I will bury it with my cash.

I'd hazard a guess that out of 100 photos I take, 10 or so would be 'keepers'. A lot of it is working towards a good composition and/or settings.

That does remind me, I have some nice photos I should edit. I just haven't had the time.

Great rowing from the British 4 there. Nah, both teams were foxing. The Aussies backed off a bit there as well. I don't think either team raced to their potential. I'm looking forward to that race. They didn't react because they didn't have to. It was a semi and they were comfortable. The commentators even noted they dropped their stroke.
