Re: DUNE MOVIE 2019: It could be epic...
I thought it was fairly good. A bit too much orni flying scenes for mine, and I don't think they did Jessica justice. Apart from that, good stuff. Its complicated to know what to take from the book and what to leave, I think they did a fairly good job.

Re: What is Going on in France?
We know nationalism are rising everywhere in the world. France is no different. In addition, there has always been an ultra right tradition among French officers, ranking from Royalist to Fascist, including all forms of ultra right populism. The French army was still fighting the Germans in the Vos...

There has to be at least 1 more perspective: company loyalty & spirit. Like it or not Humans are essentially social creatures & we have a significant loyalty to our physical tribe. Companies are an abstract concept that are only made real to most of us by having a physical connection - a place of w...

Re: What is Going on in France?
I assume that much of modern France is due to Napoleon. That should be recognised, and can be done whilst acknowledging his reintroduction of slavery. I think Macron is correct. Macron is just trying to gain votes from the right for the next election. These aren't mutually exclusive though. Any pre...

On a slightly different subject, what is going on with Macron and his laying of a wreath on Napoleon's tomb? Surely he must realize how divisive this action is going to be. How? Why? Slavery mostly, in guadeloupe/martinique. Sarkozy chose to not do anything on the anniversary of his birth if I reme...
