Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Is Anthony Watson fit? He didn't play for Bath at the weekend. Scotland pose a serious threat so having pace off the bench would be useful. JJ has to start for me. Watson was the travelling reserve for England, wasn't released back to Bath for the game. Ah. That'll explain it then! I'd rather him t...

Too lazy to do the digging myself but what was the reason for McGrath benching behind Healy against Italy? Was it just squad rotation, minor injury or summat else? Rotation. Mercer's a good prospect but let's not go overboard about him, he looked really good at u20 level and he's done well in his appearances for Bath so far but he's nowhere near the physical levels for international rugby yet. Give him a season or two to fill out a bit more first and see whether he can ...

By his standards it was. I'm not saying he was a catastrophe or anything but Daly made a couple of really important tackles while out of position, while JJ made a couple of small but telling mistakes in addition to the ones he got right. The fact that it remained so tight until the last fixtures meant numbers were boosted. Strange line to include. It's probably a competition between the Rec and Kingsholm for the poorest pitch at the moment - both look poor compared to the likes of Franklin's Gardens.

I'm not sure they would be allowed to due to the Summer use of the Rec for cricket.

Pitch isn't quite as bad as it used to be for drainage but it could still be better.

Yes it was disallowed but Brown didn't know that before he ushered Foley over the line.
The reason I mentioned it was because Brown was having to cover for Burrell who missed Foley in the first place due to the obstruction.
