Re: The Training Thread

Didn't do my 6 burpees today. I did 150. I decided to give 'Death by burpees' a go - 20 1 minute rounds. First round you do 1 burpee, 2nd round 2 etc. Starts to get very hard around 12-13 when the time spent doing burpees becomes more than the rest time. I got to round 14 but only managed 14 in the ...

Re: The Training Thread

It's not really the full move though unless you let your weight hang and then start again. It's the slightly more refined cousin of the kip. Take the tension out of your core and shoulders, at a minimum - you're still hanging on with your hands and forearms. I will admit, I'm not one the 'heavier c...

Re: The Training Thread

My understanding of burpees was that you don't have to do a push up in them. I go completely to ground when doing them, too - chest and crotch to ground.

Re: NZ, 28 years unbeaten in RWC pool matches, how much long

BTW, I also dont think you can say that it will be a 28 year record as its only ever played every four years. It will be a record for 7 consecutive RWC's. I'm fairly sure we were reminded on a daily basis how many years in total it had been since our last WC win. ahem, ahem, ah-fcukking-hem. ...

Re: The Training Thread

Did a more traditional 'cardio' type workout today. Started off with 5x5 pullups then 45 mins on the elliptical. But did it in 'rounds' - first 5 times 1 minute@ 75% of maximum effort* then 1 minute@50%, then 5 times 1:30 @ 75% with 1 minute rest and finally 5 times 2 mins @75%, 1 min @50%. 5 minute...
