Re: Wallabies v France July Tests

Glad to see folks coming around to the HodgeTrain Just not at flyhalf or wing or in the centres. Yeah agree that he shouldn't play on the wing or in the centres. Surprisingly he was quite good at flyhalf when he played there for Wallabies. He can fill any of those positions to a passable level in a...

Re: NZ Transgender Weightlifter Cleared to Compete by the IOC

The far left are just as mindlessly unscientific as the far right. This of course does not make the truth, "middle of the road". Scientific truth exists all over the spectrum. Science has no political side. It's just an example of how fringe ideologues are more than willing to throw their brain out ...

To get combination for now and the future I'd pick and stick with the QLD axis of 8 Wilson 9 Tate 10 JOC 12 Hunter Absolutely. Nic White might having something to say about it but when he’s not available this is the way to go. Nic White was poor when he came back from injury. He's a good player but...

Re: Wallabies v France July Tests

Hodge was actually pretty good when he played fullback a few times. Given the fact we don't have any standout fullbacks, I'd like to see Hodge there for a few games and see how he performs. That makes perfect sense to me. Yeah I think he's a better fullback than flyhalf. His draw card is that he ca...

The Wallaby pack performed well. I haven't seen anyone arguing that what was missing from the game was mongrel. Hodge is so average. He is Pat McCabe ffs. I'm always a bit sus on this theory. I mean he's right, great teams don't have a lot of chopping and changing. But does a team become great because a lack of changing players, or is it that a great team doesn't need to change players? It's a fair question and I reckon the answer is a bit of both. I...

Just watched the game again. The French were actually pretty good. We gave them every chance to get on top in that first 30 minutes. I don’t think Lolesio is the bloke. Re: Wallabies v France July Tests

I'm not sure where Swinton fits in? The lineout functioned perfectly fine... do we only want to play with 14 players? Did we use the back of the lineout other than BPAs overthrow at 40mins? Part of the game-plan. Lull the opposition into a false sense of security while keeping our blokes on their toes. I like it.

I'm rooting for a Swinton call up.

There is ignorance and then there is wilful ignorance. I'm not sure which is worse. Using Conan as the example of where race didn't matter was really important. That story is seen by some as 'credible' because black, white and Asian people were all in a place that we could expect them to be. All th...

I don’t think Australia did as badly as they were maligned. I only saw the second half. I read that Paisami scored a try in the first half but it was pulled back because of a forward pass from Gordon. The article seemed to suggest it would still have been scored if the pass wasn’t forward, but not ...

I felt the Aussies deserved it for the overall dominance of their forwards - on the front foot for most of the game. Hooper was decent and so was Tupou when he came on. Groan This is like, literally the most default rugby forward positioning. You teach it to U12 players, never mind the Lions. The Wallabies run a 1-3-3-1. Blindside on one wing, hooker on the other. Why would you want a blindside and a hooker defending the wings? I'm not saying you're wrong here mind you. Just that if that's the gameplan, it seems pretty stupid. Never heard of that before. I played #6 for most of my life....
