Re: The state of the NZRU..
Looks like NZR has already made the decision Fans of New Zealand provincial rugby teams might no longer be able to see their sides on television from 2026, as Sky TV and New Zealand Rugby radically reduce National Provincial Championship coverage. NZR this week told provincial bosses the NPC is like...

Re: The state of the NZRU..
I think jtah's point is that the Warriors and SOO are loved, not the NRL in general, the viewership for it is poor and only spiked by the hype train in years like last year solely focused on the Warriors. Therefore, expecting NRL to fill the void is unrealistic. I personally don't mind what NZRU do...

Re: The state of the NZRU..
No they don’t it’s on too late. Kiwis love the Warriors and SOO. wtf... Its on pretty much the same time as most of the super rugby games, super have even later games when its in WA. Two weeks ago at a wedding I was sat across the table from Sky NZ's Lead of content and commercial. He said last yea...

The state of the NZRU..
Posting this up as its behind the paywall on NZH. Gregor Paul's take on the NZ Rugby Union drama, its a long post so bear with me... Rugby administration stories don’t fire the imagination. They are characterised as abstract, boring even, as if the decisions made in the boardroom have no bearing or ...

I hope not. I understood he was being chased but havn't seen anything confirmed. Don’t quote this but ground rumour mill is in overdrive. He might be waiting to see how he goes with a certain matter in the coming weeks... There was a lot of talk at the ground about this. I hope it’s not a repeat

I reckon all those titles he won for Canterbury probably had something to do with it too... That was a while ago. I would have thought his NSW record would be more relevant. Hes currently getting lee way due to injuries but it'll be interesting to see how long that lasts if things don't change. Giv...

Re: Crusaders vs Hurricanes Match Thread
Just seen the match. Hurricanes should’ve won by 20pts but any win in Christchurch is hard won so a good win to the Canists. Crusaders look well off the pace. Only Sevu Reece looks like a shadow of his former self. My sentiments exactly. Canes had so many opportunities to win by two scores. Regardl...

Re: Crusaders vs Hurricanes Match Thread
Canes have to score here Nothing unpredictable there. Glad I bet with my head and not heart. Scrappy arm wrestle in horrible conditions. For the Crusaders, glad they showed some fight. Heinz is a liability and plenty to work on. Aim for 5-6 wins and making the 8 will be a brilliant season. Not sure...

It's a long season yet anyway. Under this format so far qualifying for the finals has required 4 and 5 wins respectively. I still back us to at least get that. And then who knows, I don't think anyone would like to face us at that time of season... This is how I look at it as well.. Away games in J...

Tbh, I'm comfortable with a poor performing season this year. We've lost so many great players, and then had another terrible injury toll. Eventually this will catch up on our performance. I was already resigned to one in the pre season. I don’t get the whole media beat up over here but I guess it’...

I was at that game, although as you say, I couldn't see a bloody thing so you'd hardly know it. The only thing I remember making out reasonably clearly was Laulala bursting over for his try. Re: The Crusaders 2024 Thread
Just for interests sake anyone want to do a head to head?
Apart from Grace and Reece and even those are close, I'd struggle to see anywhere the 2024 team is stronger in the starting XV.
