What driving the surge in inventories? Assume there may be some sellers coming out of the 29 March 2018 and 26 March 2021 5 year brightline window but what else is behind it? Hoping it’s lots of new builds. I would also like to know why so many people are selling, people worried about prices going ...

Re: NZ Politics Thread
In isolation the logic is right, but if you include the numbers coming in from immigration we'll have a housing shortage for a while yet, no matter what ratio landlords/renters we have While that would normally be true, its not currently the case. Immigration has been running rampant for the last 2...

Re: Crusaders vs Hurricanes Match Thread
No they didn't, they finished with five wins and missed the top eight. Assume you mean 2022? Crusaders could lose eight and still win the competition, that goes without saying. Ah yes, I did look at 2022. Still you can lose 9-10 games and still make the 8. Even if the Crusaders scrape in I think it...

Teams should be named today I believe so I will update the OP thenOutstanding No 8 Hugh Renton has been ruled out for four to six weeks after suffering a high ankle sprain in the 23-21 win over the Waratahs in Sydney on Friday night.

Re: Crusaders vs Hurricanes Match Thread
:( You can look gloatingly across at me shivering in the south stand. Best stand to be in with a cold southerly blowing though. Saw a few videos shared on socials from the breakdown, JK stating if the Crusaders go 0-6 (3 derbies coming up) the season will be over. I think he should do some research...

Forecast to be very cold and wet in Christchurch for the game. I've just been given tickets to a corp suite so all is not lost. The first Crusaders game I'll be able to watch this year.

Re: SRP - R4 Highlanders vs ACT Brumbies
I expect this to be a close game and wouldn't be surprised to see the Landers take the win. The teams are equal on 9 points on the table but the Highlanders are slightly ahead on PD.
Should be a cracking game of afternoon rugby under the roof regardless.

Re: The best new and returning TV series of 2024?
I’ve just found “Snowfall”…… it’s not new and I’m sure it’s been discussed here at some point. How did this escape my radar? I’m not yet finished season 1 (of 6) and so far it’s excellent. It has John Singleton’s fingerprints all over it so there’s that going for it as well. It’s not in the league ...

Well official figures are in, 10,582 for Friday night, 11,231 on Saturday night. RA would have to be pretty happy ...

So was it a bribe, or wasn't it (you explicitly said the money was for assets being taken)? If it was a bribe, where did the money go? If it wasn't a bribe, why did you say it was? A bribe was mentioned pages back. You’re discussing my OP, later posts are discussing money wasted on three waters for...

Aha, thank you for confirming that, i.e. that many local authorities are not only money grubbing and vainglorious, but are once again proving that they are utterly incompetent when it comes to constructing and maintaining water infrastructure. local councils didn’t even see the $500 million. That w...

Re: Jaguares back in Super Rugby
I think a better solution would be to scrap Super Rugby and instead elevate the NPC - have the 4 or 5 Oz teams join that. Not a bad solution. It would definitely dilute the talent between the 14 NZ teams. But 14 NZ teams vs 4 - 5 australian teams is hardly fair from an outside perspective. If all c...

Lets hope there is a plan and it includes more games of rugby, someone posted a Wessel's quote "you can't run a shop that is only open 7 times a year..." It was one of the better explanations of the basic failure of the current Super Rugby model. Gallagher Premiership (England): Regular season: 22 ...

Right, I'm calling it now, here's how the game's gonna go. We're gonna win the toss. The pitch is green as f*ck. Australia are 65/4 at lunch with Khawaja 32* and Marsh 4*. We all get our hopes up for a second. Then the pitch flattens out, both in batters score tons, and Australia end the day 290/6. ...
