Re: 2024 Super Rugby Squad naming today
I am actually pretty excited about Super Rugby next season and looking forward to the competition kicking off. With Scott Robertson finally getting the job he should have years ago the dynamics of the competition have changed and their is a unpredictability about the NZ sides. There is alot of All B...

Re: 2024 Super Rugby Squad naming today
As is letting Oli Jager go. Foster not selecting him previously was just dumb. Bet it comes back to haunt us in the future when Ireland's bench has more impact than ours.

Re: 2024 Super Rugby Squad naming today
Why aren't the Australian franchises after Lincoln McClutchie, Alex Hartford or Josh Jacomb given no NZ franchise want them and they are arguably as good as or better than alot of the NZ 10s who got contracts. Given the lack of talent at 10 in Australia you think these would be the players they are ...

Oli Jager has asked for a late release from his contract.
I wonder if he has been offered an Irish contract.

Viva La Winston. Finally some good news for the country after some shitty results lately. Re: May Tom Foley NEVER TMO again !!
Disagree entirely. As mentioned (below), World Rugby made the 2 phase directive to ensure TMO's don't start pulling the game up as a result of something that may have happened 5-10 phases back, 60 metres back up the field. The difference here being, the Touchie called it straight away, Barnes as he...

Can someone explain why she walked out with Dan Carter to open the Bill Box? Does she have some connection to rugby? Re: All Blacks 2024
One problem is some super sides are stock piling all the good young prospects in some positions. It would be advantageous for NZ rugby to see the likes of Bradley Higgins move franchises so his development is not blocked by Jordie Barrett. Same goes for Ah Kuoi with regards to Finau at the chiefs.

Re: All Blacks 2024
Area's that are the biggest concern are Lock, 6 and 10 for me. There are enough up and comers who are definitely promising but needs time to really bring them up to international level. Rest is looking pretty good IMO. I am optimistic about 6 with Samipeni Finau, Devon Flanders, Cameron Suafoa, Nai...

Re: Is this the end of Rugby?
Looks to be the end of running rugby to be sure. It's galling because I think SA have superb talent to engage in running rugby but instead play a percentage game. Not if running rugby is executed well. NZ had a very helter-skelter style in this final throwing a number of what are called 50/50 offlo...

As a neutral I thought it was a pretty good game. Shite conditions caused a lot of handling issues but it was tense af. SA unlucky to score a couple of tries and then the momentum swayed back to the ABs. The laws are just shite though. The game at this level is a hot mess and it basically comes dow...

Re: 2023 Rugby World Cup Final Match Thread - NZ Vs South Africa
SA should be massive favourites. RWC finals are always tight nervy affairs. SA has given 2 masterclasses in a row on how to win such games. NZ has just given masterclasses on how to give away yellow cards in such situations. NZ even in its knockout wins have struggled to exit their own 22. The clear...

Interesting so they were all young mothers (under 25 years old) except the 70 year old (had her baby at age 31). The 70 year old was in her prime during the 1970s. Interestingly this was the peak of what the call second-wave feminism highlighted by the publication of Germaine Greer's The Female Eunu...

I hope they keep the same team. Newall got murdered in the scrums in that record loss to the Boks at Twickenham. I've missed the last few years. Why is Newall being selected regularly ahead of Laulala? Better round the field and has huge potential to be a great scrummager in the future but ATM Laul...

Not only that a NH ref probably would have given a yellow to a tighthead for total capitulation like that. Wayne Barnes would love to do it. Then NZ will have to take off a loose forward to bring back on Lomax.

I think the AB's will field the same 23 as they did in the Semi. Only questions would be does Whitelock or Retallick start? There might be some discussion as to Coles or Taukeiaho on the bench. Size or experience? Bulk or Speed? Nepo Laulala has to be on the bench for the young fella Newall given w...
