There’s also another option for Australian talent that doesn’t need to go to NSW boarding schools, which is to go to NZ for the last two years of high school. I know a family who did that. The kid was something special and being Kiwis themselves, parents migrated back there so they could get him in...

Re: Melbourne Rebels... faaaaarked!

Nah. It’s hard enough building momentum and a fan base with only half a dozen home games a year. 3 or so would be suicide. Call them the Melbourne Brumbies and be done with it. Play all games in Melbourne, or maybe 1 in the ACT like the Reds do with Townsville every other year. They could play in t...

Re: Wallabies 2024 (2023 never happened)

When Super Rugby went professional in 1996, Queensland winger Damian Smith stirred up Queensland-NSW zeal at Ballymore with the most famous punch to miss its target in the history of Super Rugby. He was sent off for his rabid aggression when attempting to hammer rival winger David Campese’s head in...

Re: Melbourne Rebels... faaaaarked!

If the Rebels do go cactus, then the brumbies should definitely take their catchment and move to Melbourne. No one supports them in Canberra anyway, and the brumbies system overlayed an actual jr pathway would be a good combo. Rebrand as the Southern Brumbies, with half their games played in Canber...

By the time they get to U20, they're already out of the Union system and into NRL systems. Go back to U16 and everyone is playing both codes Is this really true for most rugby kids in NSW and QLD? I don't think this is the case in other states, I guess simply because League is non existent. Many NR...

He doesn’t play for the Brumbies so not everyone will be on board but most of the rest don’t have any conflicts so can get behind this.
