Re: Rugby Championship: Springboks vs All Blacks: MATCH THREAD: Sat 2nd Oct

Late in the second half when the AB's were penalised yet again in kicking range for not releasing the tackled player, Savea attempted to point this out. Consistency , even if it is a poor interpretation of the Laws, is the minimum expected. None of that happened last night . It's well past time tha...

NRL to announce an expansion team - Redcliffe Dolphins

The NRL will expand to 17 teams in 2023, adding a new team, the Redcliffe Dolphins. The team will play home games at Suncorp Stadium, alternating home weekends with the Brisbane Broncos. Their training facilities will be Moreton Daily Stadium, where the Dolphins are currently based in the QLD Cup. A...

And Anna will be happy to open up? I believe so. She won't wait until all 5 and 6 year olds are vaccinated to protect them? TBH if we manage to stay on top of the virus I hope we do maintain border closures until we reach 90% of total population - not 80% of 16years+ like NSW is doing. Opening our ...

That's shit news for Samoan Rugby and once again highlights the growing disparity between Rugby's 'haves' and 'have nots'. So Manu Samoa's entire test season was two warm up matches against NZ Maori followed by two tests against Tonga. That's it for the year.

I think it's safe to say neither Savea or Cane are as good a captains as Whitelock. Of course Sam Whitelock is vastly more experienced and an all time great having won 2 World Cups and multiple Super Rugby titles. Not many would debate that Sam Whitelock is our best lock. No he isn't. I remember when he was captaining the Chiefs during their winless season in 2020 and his signature move to engage with the referee was to glare. The more decisions that went against his team, the harder and longer his glare would be.

One thing that concerned me after the game, was Ardie when being interviewed, telling the boys it was OK to lose the way they did or something to that effect? Ii cant recall exactly what he said, but I didn't think it was right. They should always feel it is not OK to lose, this is test rugby not s...

Sad to see Clogs once again death-riding QLD, desperately hoping that more Queenslanders catch covid-19 and die. Hopefully Perrottet's ultra-conservative religious views serve to draw more focus on Scott Morrison's religious zealotry. Although one is a Catholic whilst the other is a happy clapper. I'm trying to imagine how the media would react if Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk was forced to resign because she was facing a corruption watchdog, and then three days later her Deputy Premier Steven Miles resigned for personal reasons. The Courier Mail's headquarters would explode.

The breakdown was clearly an issue. We won only 89% of our own rucks, which isn't acceptable at this level. The reasons for this were two-fold, the Springboks put more numbers into the breakdowns, and they seemed to bring more intensity and physicality to the breakdown. Their counter-rucking was ex...
