Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion

Clancy has lost his chance at Gold in EXACTLY the same way he lost it at the World Championships Clearly tactically naive, you know what you need to do Brailsford It's not naivety, he isn't fit enough to follow every move in long distance events. GB lack specialists in the Omnium because it is a jo...

Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion

Well this particular cycling race is even harder to follow than the bloody sailing. WTF is going on? :? You get points for lapping the field I think. Don't know if the Madison is in the Olympics still . That can be quite confusing too. Why don't they have a rolling ribbon showing the positions like...

Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion

The difference is in the method. Dave Brailsford leaves no stone unturned so from talent spotting [trials for some 5000 youngsters] to hiring the best coaches in the world to a marginal gains 'think-tank' that have even created the cycling equivalent of tyre warmers to keep the cyclists muscles at ...

Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion

Told you about Sturridge. Worst player in the team (probably in the tournament, perhaps in the Premier League). Why Pearce persisted with him is a mystery. Shame for the team though. Genuinely the best youth player I've ever seen. Injuries robbed him that extra class and a few years. But fudge foot...

Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion

When is the last time a GB team made top 4 in a soccer tournament? Euro 96 Nah, England u21s have made a final or 2 recently. It's the UEFA tourny that you qualify from for the Olympics. Or at least they would have if England were allowed to compete before this GB thing. Pretty sure the 19s or some...

Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion

Is the yank jumper carrying a bible? :? Yep, he was. I've actually met him on more than one occasion, at various track meets, and he's probably the nicest guy you'll ever meet, and the type of Christian no one should have any problem with. Definitely not my cup of tea, but he's a great dude, one of...

Miguel Indurain wrote: Bobridge? There was a lot of hype about a promising road career for him.
He has real class. Rides a huge prologue. He will be superb in the TT if he commits to the road properly. With no Olympic IP and Greenedge around, you would think he would do.

Re: London 2012 official OLYMPICS discussion

I interviewed 'G' recently -- absolutely made up for the TP boys. I know GB have been riding WR schedules at Newport for a while now. Equally Wiggins' first autobio made clear he wasn't that impressed with Bobridge's WR that lowered his own. He had gone much quicker than his WR in training per-Beij...

Re: Kidney Out.

One can always hope Schmidt stays, but yeah, he's probably going to go home. Listen, at this stage I probably could do better than Kidney in NZ. Do a Gatland, and pick as many Leinster players as possible, augmented by a few culchies and let them at it. What are you on about? Kidney, being shite, p...

Re: Kidney Out.

We've beaten Australia and South Africa a number of times of the past 5 or 6 years. I'd say only France has had more success vs tri nations team than Ireland have over the past few years, and even thats debatable Ireland's record looks basically the same as England's -- and England have been largel...

Re: The Android thread

Is there any way of recording a telephone conversation on my Android? Some idiot has decided to arrange a call during the next Bank Holiday when it is a hassle to travel to the office/arrange for the room with the recording equipment to be open. Would rather just take the call at home, but the conve...

Willie - Can you link to your post where you say Court was shit please? Just asking, seeing how consistent you are given your decription of Healy here. Also, I don't get the criticism of Heaslip - he's not been as good as he had been before but he's been far from shit, and has been playing a differ...
