Re: This is what an All Black rebuilding year looks like...

Just to recap. At the end of last season the All Blacks lost: * Captain Richie McCaw, their greatest ever openside flanker (and the greatest in the history of the game). * Dan Carter, their greatest ever first five (possibly the greatest in the history of the game). * Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith, th...

Yeah for playoff dominance, I'd go:

1. Hurricanes 2016
2. Brumbies 2001
3. Bulls 2009
4. Blues 1996

We're deep as hell at 6. I was thinking the other day, Jordan Taufua would be an AB if this was 2002, but today in 2016 he's not even on the radar, such is the ridiculous level of talent we have right now. Likewise Taleni Seu would've been knocking on the door of past All Black sides.

Re: Should we discuss the travel factor?

The Lions and the Hurricanes were the only two sides this season to beat four New Zealand teams this year, for all the talk about travel the two best sides made the final. I think travel isn't as big a factor as living out of a suitcase and local climate are myself. It's all done in business class, ...

Their play is still much better suited to a dry track. In a wet game I think Kolisi and Burger could be immense for them.

Re: Jaguares vs Lions @ Buenos Aires

I was thinking today about the struggles that Jaguares have had this season, and came to the conclusion that a significant factor was a struggle to play under and communicate with New Zealand referees. After having this thought I decided to see if maybe my theory had any merit, and looked at the Jag...

Re: Why can't the Aus commentators pronounce Jaguares...

Aussie commentators are fairly arrogant about pronouncing non-English names correctly, you only have to look at how Pacific Island and Maori names are pronounced by Aussie commentators in sport (despite the significant percentage of the player base they make up in league and union).
