Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I don’t really see the issue with forcing Wales to play from deeper second half. We nearly got caught a couple of times playing wide from our own half. The halfbacks are going to be an absolute obsession between here and the World Cup. Obviously they’re important positions but they’re 2/15 players ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Well McCloskey is starting so he's probably invested. He reminds me of the Lions fans who don't really care about the Lions if they don't have any players from their nation involved. Look, you're not going to convince me to respect the bigot so probably best to move on. Clearly the issue is with yo...

Ukraine have got a ridiculous amount of intelligence and planning resources at their disposal, which means they will have usage cases all mapped out for these new armaments.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Listened to the Left Wing earlier and there was a lot of debate about strategy for the RWC group games and which great white hope to back at 10. I think we have our work cut out in the Six Nations never mind the RWC. France are well on their way to becoming a bogey team and England are bound to have...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Should Ulster be winning away to Treviso? IIRC there was a lot of chatter this week about how much improved the Italians are compared to Scots/Welsh. I say this having not watched the game, so don't know if they were spineless in defeat. Their backline says yes, pack not so much. A lot of driftwood...

It looks like we are on the slide again. Shipping points the way we have been is the death knell. Key players with half an eye on Ireland windows or the exit door. Squad filler realising that’s all they’re going to be. McFarland appears to have f*cked it and is having to play honest journeymen to tr...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
The Ulster team is stronger than expected, and indicates that we might be sending a rotated team to La Rochelle next week to concede the fixture. Greg Jones though, I don't understand how he gets selected here. Warwick the sub tighthead while Milosinovich plays for Ulster A is a good indication of ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
There is a bit of second season syndrome kicking in with some of Ulster’s youngsters.
The IRFU get a lot of things right but they have dropped the ball with a few of the contracts.
Also the whole IQ thing has become quite political and everyone needs to justify signing an English journeyman.
