Watching the Wasps game; you have to wonder how the hell Shields got games for England - but Willis can't make the squad :? Shields tbf has been out injured for quite some time. In many ways he should have come on earlier, Wasps were crying out for some leadership in the pack to counter the Leicest...

Re: British mums slate 'dirty, dreary Dublin'
I think the problem for Brits is that Ireland and the UK are pretty similar. So when you go for a weekend to Dublin its not much different than going to Manchester or Leeds for example. Then compare that to a major capital city in Europe. Its just more exotic. For a Brit (not necessarily someone fr...

While there is obviously no player of Reads quality lining up at 8, overall I don't think we are too bad for next generation back row players. As a wise man once said: ‘Winning’s easy…[but] when you lose… you have to show humility, do it gracefully and be honest about it. Sometimes you have to bite down on your gumshield and suck it up.’ All sportspeople are dissapointed when they lose, but that is part of sport. I would be very p**ed off ...

Blows a bit too hot and cold for mine. When he’s on fire he is fantastic. Other games he never finds the range of his kicks as in its not just one or two poor ones and often doesn’t clear quickly enough. He shut down Japan on his own for example but conversely when he struggles like vs Wales or the...

We will have to see. A loss is a loss but the manner of the loss is the big worry, beaten physically is one thing but they were mentally beaten as well. Finals are typically close run things, with only one game in RWC finals history having a greater points differential. The way England were unable t...

Lochore was the benchmark for me: tireless, superb ball carrier, excellent tackler, good in lineouts, the best cover defending 8 I've seen, superb captain, humble, an all-round good bloke. Buck and Zinny both had areas in which they excelled and were pretty damned good at the rest too. Read was alw...

Epitomises the modern No. 8 for me.
Speed, mobility, devastating tackler, fantastic hands, key lineout target, massive engine.....simply could do it all.
Going to be very very hard to replace.

It is understood that the protocol states that opponents must not cross the halfway line but at the two tips of England’s V formation, six players – Joe Marler, Billy Vunipola, Mark Wilson, Elliot Daly, Luke Cowan‑Dickie and Ben Youngs – appeared to be standing in the All Blacks’ half. I don’t think the ABs would have beaten the English no matter what game plan we pulled out.
