Re: White supremacist terror attack in the US!

There may never be a person in this world with a more overtly hippy name than "Taliesin". RIP Why is that name so familiar? Something from King Arthur? Or one of Eddings books? Something fantastical anyway. But yes, a horrible way to go. It was a real person from Celtic Britain, but you're probably...

Re: The OFFICIAL 2017 General Election Thread

I think Dan Hannan's piece on Corbyn's speech from last week sums up a lot of people's opinion perfectly It is human nature to place yourself at the centre of the universe, and we extend that principle into our geopolitics. Thus, we are simultaneously to blame for intervention and for non-intervent...

Maybe legal and general will become big in Ireland too. Most of their business is either UK or US based, it follows no logic at all to decant to Dublin in great numbers. All the talk is a bit meh, " part of its investment management business" "The move will not impact staff in other locations". The...

Re: The European origin of humans

I read this yesterday. It's quite interesting, but I would suspect another explaination might be given at some point as evidence stacks up or goes for further evaluation. Even if it is perfecty contradictory evidence there is still masses of other evidence pointing to East Africa as our origin mean...

Re: Hask Lions inclusion a joke

I'm sure James Haskell is a good bloke to have in a tour party, full of bants and a great guy to keep spirits up. There is also an argument that his experience will be beneficial although quite how many rookies there are on tour to benefit from this experience is debatable (he'd be far better used ...
