Re: Ryder Cup 2020(1)
2 years is an age; form comes and goes. The US had great team camaraderie / chemistry this time around, even Brooks and Bryson seemed to bury the hatchet, which I applaud. Who knows what will happen though in the next 24 months.

Re: In theory, who should have won the respective RWCs
A case could be made, but only arguable at best. They were indeed goaded into playing a more expansive game by the Aussies, who were worried about England's more prosaic, power-game that had been improving through the tournament. They might have won in any event, if not for a deliberate slap-forwar...

Re: In theory, who should have won the respective RWCs
Could a case be made for England in 1991? My rather murky recollection was that they were goaded / challenged into playing a more 'open' style in the buildup to the test by the Aussies, and abandoned their more practical / dour playing style that had been so successful to date in that tournament (?)...

Snooze, it is a minority but not a smaller one, If the totals hold firm, the Liberals will have actually increased their minority, albeit by 1 seat. NFL is great for stats as well and they add to the sport. It has come a long way (stats they're able to produce now), you're right LM. Is it fair to say the majority of them are 'athletic' related such as maximum speed reached on a run / play, or distances thrown, etc. My impression, but I may be w...

I wonder whether those budget figures include just the main squad, or would it also include the academy players, and/or the managers / coaches too.
Taking a guess, at 39MM Euro, Stade Francais has a squad of 35; just over 1MM Euro per main squad player seems to me to be an awful lot / too high.

That was a tough watch. Comprehensive win. Not many positives to take out of it. Team is small, and fitness that was so good last week didn't come into it this week.

It was always going to be a tough one. I'm thankful GB and the US have stuck to it, and welcome the new teams. It'll be fun to watch some of the minnows games I'd imagine. I also can't wait to watch Jaz Joyce again, I hope she's playing. She was one of the highlights of the Olympics for me.

It does look like status quo, you're right. I wish there were a couple more debates, or even better an interview of each of the leaders by a good journalist or two, getting them to explain their positions / plans / platforms and having to promote and defend them. Have them sit down with Steve Paikin...

What are the positions in 12s? To use the numbers travelling clubs brought and not have forfeits, I've done 12-a-side before. I'm thinking it was 7 forwards, 5 backs. Drop your 8-man, a wing, and fullback. Thanks. Makes sense, at least for scrums (need odd numbers I would think if there is a tradit...

It'll be interesting to see the changes for both teams.
Dumb Q, but did Canada's tactics change after halftime, did they make some adjustments? As the 40-60 min mark saw some significant improvement and very positive results (points).

Stunned I am.
Whichever coach made the halftime adjustments should be given the keys to the city, the 40-60 min performance was something else imho.
Very happy indeed, didn't think this was a possibility. However, I agree that the try at the death was huge, absolutely huge.
