If you:
1) drive a car into the ground OR
2) Do huge miles OR
3) Get a forever car (Volvo) OR
4) Get a car with a huge resale value
etc

Then there are better options with buying.

How long is your DSL cable from the router to the phone socket? All 3 tried are standard 3 foot connections I would ask your neighbours if they have the same provider and if they are experiencing the same issues. I work in network engineering and I have seen a lot of the time it can be a bottleneck...
