Re: The Training Thread

Braz - there's always power curls. The benefit of them is that if you do them in a commercial gym people will film you and put it on youtube so other form nazis can comment on your terrible curl form and how you won't ever get peaks on your biceps like that. Done properly though, they are a good ex...

Re: The Training Thread

First visit to the gym in 6 days. I know it was said on here it's all about intensity, but I worked out for 2 hours, and feel good now. My usual combination of cardio and muscles. Snow threatening again tonight, so not sure when my next big workout is. Will do pilates the next few nights though. And...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

I'm not reading into those pictures; if Kidney doesn't have the insight/balls to play Ryan at 4, then why would he play him at 6?

(him not having the insight might me by answer)

They rested SOB and Fez last week, they seem to be rested more this week: perhaps they're carrying a niggle?

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Surely after watching the match Ryan should be started at 4? I didn't think DOC had a bad game at all, but when Ryan came on there was more speed and venom to his game, exactly what we need. Also, after watching the match it was clear that although both made their mistakes, McFadden had more threat ...

How is the job hunt going Sal? Forgot to update 'Foods That Horrify!' today - two egg porridge was a resounding success. Three egg porridge seems like it might be taking the concept too far however. I'm not sure I would attend your dinner parties Bobs! The jobhunt had a positive step today: have go...

Re: The Training Thread

Ok, so due to the snow I haven't been to the gym since Friday (my gym is in a small village next to my town). I feel kind of bad not having done proper exercise for a few days, both mentally and physically. Though I have been for 2hour walks twice over the weekend and 1,5 hour walk today. I also did...

Re: The Training Thread

Got some really tight calves today from my session yesterday. Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Just seen a photo of Strauss in Ireland training kit... what now? Was done last week. Hard to know what to make of it. You'd have to think he's in the thoughts of the management for next season. Where are those pictures? I heard he was with the team last week, very interesting. Not sure it matters ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

What did Sexton say to the BBC? Before the game? Was talking about how at Leinster he's encouraged to run from almost anywhere but it's different at international level. Yep, literally said that the coach at Leinster wants him to run with the ball, whereas that is different with the national coach ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

I thought Murray has improved a lot, and although Reddan is a good tackler, Murray was really useful in defense, especially with our slight midfield and Wales' giant backs. I remember thinking at the start how hard he was working to get to the rucks. But come the second half I was thinking to myself...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Simply put Fez is better than SOB. An impartial (English) observer, had Ferris as better than SOB btw. But you wouldn't know, as you haven't seen the match. While you accused others of trolling and bias on the other thread. I would have both Ferris and SOB on for the next match, cause our best 3 ba...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

We could be competitive next week: we showed a few times that if we keep ball in hand the players have the skills to pass quickly and get the strike runners into space. Yet today we kicked up the middle of the field so often and waited for the Welsh to get back at us. (or made silly mistakes -Bowe, ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

The main reason we lost the quarter final was coach and tactics. Kidney relied on SOB and Ferris to carry all match, whereas Gatland countered that tactic by double-tackling on the Irish backrow. Ireland had no plan B, and whereas Sexton might (I say might, not sure whether he would, but at least he...

Congrats Mook! Good session in the gym today. Whoever gave me the advice to start with muscles and then do cardio: thanks, but I'm afraid it didn't work for me.
