Western Samoa should break away again. What a stupid post. It’s not at all, but tell me why you think so. FFS. You're a f**king idiot. Ok. See if you can get your head around this. It’s an old one. In 1996 Western Samoa came to Dublin to play Ireland in a match that they won 40 - 25. As the only pr...

God, I'm glad it's 12 years until the next Lions tour. The ancillary nonsense that goes along with the Lions before, during and after the tour is an absolute bore. Next time, show up, play some rugby, shake hands and piss off home. Leave your infighting, political posturing and inter-squad bickering...

A pity we lost Josh McKay to the Highlanders. Not sure we needed both Macalai and Mataele. The real loss of talent is Solomon Alaimalo but Razor was locked into Wainui, Fifita and Digby from Toddy's era when the Chiefs came calling for Solomon. Thankfully those type of recruiting errors are a thing ...

A shame the RWCL Board of Directors didn't run metrics on "having the craic" and "Guinness-fueled benders" as that seems to be what the Irish bid was based on.

World Rugby couldn’t risk a second straight World Cup where the hosts aren’t involved in the final fortnight of the tournament. And rightly so.

Some of the newbies have been found wanting, and some of the established players don't have the consistent impact they used to. In the former category, Barrett is simply not physical enough to be a top lock, unless we have a few monsters elsewhere in the pack. Tuipolotu has been hugely disappointin...

Also, Read, Coles, Crockett, Whitelock, ALB, and SBW will miss the BaaBaas game, with Mo'unga, Drummond, Atu Moli, Dillon Hunt, and Bird joining the squad for that one. These guys will be involved in the French XV game too apparently. To help with that, Hansen confirmed five additional players woul...

Fair play to them. It's really no different to Samoa or Tonga considering and selecting players with Samoan/Tongan heritage.

Rennie is a future All Blacks coach so it stands to reason he'll do what Henry and Hansen did and make his mistakes using Wales as a crash test dummy.

There's an issue with the top 200 - how on earth is St Pats Silverstream 2nd? Hamilton came 2nd in the top 4 and St Pats went out in the Canes region final. NZ youth rugby squads are always a good indicator of the absurdity of modern naming. Here is the latest NZ Secondary Schools squad. It includes some made-up names (Rivez), some creative spellings of traditional names (Kaleb and Kianu) and the Kiwi speciality of naming your kid after famous rugby pla...

If you gave Gatland and Hansen the option to replay the series this November Hansen would bite your hand off and Gatland would politely decline before rushing off to re-check his wikipedia page does indeed say a drawn series.

Hansen and the selectors gave him some feedback a few seasons back, telling him he needed to work on his body position as he was frequently getting held up in contact. Not much has changed since, often hitting the defensive line like he's a jet plane taking off.

Given the how the All Blacks management handled Dane Coles during the Lions series and in the lead-up to the first Bled test you could hardly say NZR play fast and loose with concussion issues and player safety.
Looks pretty bad. Although I never picked up on it watching live.
