Its outside money though. The IRFU have nothing to do with it other than reap the rewards. Outside money going into a system dedicated to the province above it that in turn is dedicated to the national team.
In essence its sponsorship.

Re: Women's 6 Nations 2024 thread
Utter bollocks that it's "not helping the game". There are record attendances at nearly every match in the 6N. Interest has never been greater. I am going to twickenham this weekend with about 100 people from the club my daughter is at. Looking forward to it. But for the long term growth there has ...

Are you suggesting we divert all our funding to one club, and let the other three rot? It's an interesting idea. You know how much funding each irish province gets? You know the finer details of the Thomond financing? You know the split between Leinster's own money with higher gate receipts vs cent...

Wtf are you on about? It's not a meritocracy. A province produces players. A province benefits from said players. A province is allowed a fixed amount of non Irish players. No, the other Irish teams are jealous.
I wasn't referring to anything Welsh. They are irrelevant.
The benefit of producing quality players and selling tickets to your games. I'm somewhat surprised you are only discovering now that Munster fans are chippy with a permanent persecution complex.

The best thing for me is how happy the supporters of the other Irish clubs are for Leinster. The system is working, so. Rivalry is why the provincial games get crowds. The jealousy is glorious. Strip out the traveling english supporters ..... Ireland still hasn't gotten back to the crowds it was getting prior to the WC it hosted and failed at. It's undoubtedly growing but it's coming from a pathetic base to be frank. It will struggle to grow to the point it can sell tickets at a price wher...

I don't think we need to change much on our pathways. They seem to be maximising a small playing pool already. Not many u20 GB get any game time, not until year 3 of academy would you see much of them. Prendergast has played a bit though. Back in the old days there was the AIL club game yes. It's s...

ROGs next move has to be Munster. The interpros would be tasty. He has too much cop on for that. If he wants the Ireland job, he’ll have to try a job in Ireland at some point. ROG makes good career moves. Munster is not a good career move. They don't have the players with which he can do anything.

Oh Ireland were great but I knew they would be. I only thought it would take a year or so longer. Ireland's set up is far more long term than Scotland's or Wales. Ireland put money into domestic rugby and pathways. Wales and Scotland have outsourced it to the RFU competition which isn't sustainable....

Wxv is the answer with promotion and relegation. Let the best teams play the best teams not the dregs simply for historic reasons. It's England with 12/13 better than others with 15. The word gurrier in dublin slang is a loosely translated to a young person who generally behaves like a little shit.
In French guerrier is a warrior.
Little shit warrior.
Aptly named.
