To have only given up 7 in that opening 10 of the half is pretty good for Quins given what Bordeaux were throwing at them.

Did someone really say that for everyone’s sake Leinster better win?  I, along with everyone not from Leinster, hope LaRochelle knock the stuffing out of you lot. Hope it’s a cracking game and not a real tight affair. I don't get this, surely we're the plucky underdogs at this point. It'...

How do people feel about Baird calling the lineout? Such a key platform. Not sure I'd have gone with Jenkins, even though the lineout wasn't amazing last week. Hopefully he proves me wrong. Nervy but fudge it. Huge chance for him. We won't have a perfect lineout but we won't be scared to compete on...

Yup, can confirm. California is absolute dogshit these days. I just wish more of the people here would realise it, and fudge off somewhere else so I could afford to buy a f**king house.

Leinster have 5 out of 45 players who aren't Irish 3, NIQs a samoan prop, 1 cap kiwi (injured) and 1 cap BOK. Re: How did cyclists suddenly get so good?
I think there was a tailwind at Roubaix, and also vdP’s team just pinned it on the front once they hit the cobbles. It has to be said, there’s a lot more depth in quality in the modern peloton; back in the 80s, even 90s, the field in the classics would be 90+% from countries bordering France, with a...

Boonen and Cancellara each won Roubaix with a 50km solo at different times, but to somehow that was a golden era of the cobbles while MvdP winning is boring. It’s unfortunate that Wout and Steven both crashed out, but vdP’s win was still brilliant. I dont think anyone argues against that it was bri...

Has it been/is it worth pointing out that in Beirne’s 2nd (and final) season as a Scarlet, Leinster won the Champions Cup/Pro12 double? Beating the Scarlets, with Beirne at 8, in the league final? Ireland have beaten France with DuPont playing at 9 not sure what the point is here to be honest The f...

As far as I've understood, it's a play with too low a risk/reward value, in a game where tunovers are considered "killers" because of the importance of posession and game clock management. The players don't train their lateral passing technique, and the risk of a dropped ball is very high, so it's ...

Jesus lads. One player, injury-prone by his own admission and that of everyone else around him, fell through the cracks and made it somewhere else. If there was a pattern of ex-Leinster outhalves or locks showing up and winning championships for other teams, then it might be cause for concern. As it...

Re: World Rugby to curtail Bok's Bomb Squad
It's a fairly straightforward thing to fix. Just mandate that a bench must consist of 5 forwards and 3 backs. Reduce to 6 subs, and require at least 2 (or 3) players who, between them and the starters, can cover all 3 front row positions. Being able to replace more than half the team is too many su...

Karl Dickson is reffing the Leinster game next weekend. That's going to be painful to watch. Never been the type to have an encyclopedic knowledge of refs, mostly just lump them into good/bad in my mind. Have no real idea about Dickson. He's the one who hates Ireland. https://static1.cbrimages.com/...

Re: Leinster vs Leicester Tigers
This Leinster team are clearly not better than that, or else they’d have something more to show for it. Sending a 2nd XV out for last seasons semi-final was nothing short of a loser mentality. Sending the 1sts out to play Munster in the semi would have handed the Euro final to La Rochelle, ( who pl...

Selection will be very interesting for Leinster this week. Molony was picked for the lineout and it didn't really function. I presume he won't bother with Ardennes classics now He’s on the provisional start list for Amstel and Liege, according to procyclingstats, so maybe? Leinster should be further ahead, but tigers ain't winning this. Nerves are bringing out the ref whinges though which is good. I’m impressed how much Leicester have fronted up. Look, you lads pay more attention to Munster than I do, but surely he wouldn't say that from nowhere. Presumably it means either senior players or lots of them. I take your point though. There's lots to pick apart in the comment - it's virtually meaningless in its vagueness. What does the phrase "u...

Kelly in today’s peloton wouldn’t win some of the hilly races he used to (Liege and especially Lombardy are much harder now) but the others (Fignon, Hinault etc) would still be as good today as they were then. Nobody’s going up the Tourmalet in 39-23 in today’s racing. Tour stages are 30-60km shorte...

And I've just learned the ball can hit the ground and play continues if it's passed backwards. Of course. Play stops if player down with ball in hand only. Re lateral passes, the ball actually has to go backwards, unlike rugby where it is relative to the passing and receiving player. Also, the foot...

It's hard to know for sure. I think better than ROL. At least McFadden level. He hits great lines, is fast, has a good pass and great strength. Just not sure he has any step at all. I've yet to see him do much in that regard. He's also only about 5'8 which unfortunately is a disadvantage these days...

It's generally more subtle than that. Taking lanes out and putting in half-arsed cycle routes in spite of little or no demand, or ridiculous lowering of speed limits with no good reason. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2023/nov/04/brexit-lack-of-cash-politics-has-the-uk-cycling-revolution-...
