Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Well, you broke one of the fundamental laws of Six Nations Match Threads in that you failed to include a picture of Katherine Jenkins for a Welsh fixture. Makes you a legitimate target for all parties. I hope you're feeling very sorry about that! P.S. I'll be in my bunk... She is getting on a bit t...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

Well, you broke one of the fundamental laws of Six Nations Match Threads in that you failed to include a picture of Katherine Jenkins for a Welsh fixture. Makes you a legitimate target for all par...

Re: The best new and returning TV series of 2024?
I guess I’m inconsistent in my taste. I enjoyed Wind River. Just as I liked the Chris Pine film , Hell or High Water . Hated Yellowstone with a passion , it was a slow TV month and persisted , but didn’t feel good about it . Yeah, none of Sheridan's stuff really does it for me. Hell or Highwater wa...

Re: RFU discussed selling Twickenham and buying 50% share in Wembley
A good start would be to cease calling going to the place the 'Twickenham experience' as if it is some kind of paranormal event. I think the best times I have had there was when you could book a space in the old West or North carparks and bring a spread of food and booze for a pre and post match ses...

BoB is an impossible mountain to climb, but it's flying (pun definitely intended) well above The Pacific for me. BoB strength is that they had two strong leads (Winters and Nixon) who were given enough time for character development for you to actually give a shit about them and another half dozen ...

Platoon, eh? That outrageous tale felt real to you but not the actual true story? Did you like the bit when the Vietnamese dudes tracked the platoon, silently, IN THE F*CKING JUNGLE, at night time, but Charlie Sheen had fallen asleep so didn’t blow the claymore, which would have killed all the bad ...

Re: War in Ukraine...
Was chatting to the housemates the other day and he casually dropped in how the US was gonna abandon Ukraine and Russia would get what they wanted. I had to politely tell him that the numbers just don't stack up. He kept going back to "Ach I dunno. I wouldn't believe what the US says" etc and said ...

Really enjoyed 3rd ep of Masters of the Air too. Getting some nice vibes, similar to Band of Brothers It's ok... Not got near Band of Bothers yet for me. Episode 4 is about as close as it has got with the emotive stuff. And is my fav episode so far. The characters are starting to come out of themse...

I actually do think Zebo has played very very well this year but he is constantly injured, likely not fit and can’t get through a game. Hes a real break glass option Despite looking out of shape and being glacially slow I think he has had a pretty good season but he is very far away from gaining an...

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health
I'd imagine that kicks in after about 5 strokes on the erg. Training going well.so far this year. Pain isn't as awful as it has been at times. Figuring what prehab and stretches really help ease things. I've wintered well, though. Currently tipping about just below my lifetime PB of bodyweight. Not...

Re: The Training Thread - all aspects of fitness and health
Been a shite winter for rowing. Floods and fast stream conditions have rendered many rivers unsafe to boat on and lots of races have been cancelled. Lots of land training but there comes a point when you start losing the will to live doing multiple ergs per week.

Re: Sign Me Up!?
We ‘may’ be second to France but one point is that we weren’t second to France until recently. Up until the ‘Tories’, there was an argument that UK military was on a par, or superior in certain aspects, to the French military. It is also not accurate to characterise our military decline (in terms o...

Re: Netflix 6N Documentary
Three episodes in and I think it is struggling to know what it wants to be, promote the sport? human interest player back story angle? Coaches point of view? Kind of touches on all without really going too deep. I don't think the focus on one player per team approach really works in a fifteen man ga...

I thought the pack were very good. POM and Scannell coming back gave the team a boost. Everything seemed to work smoother so credit to them in their first game of the season. Scannell went the 80 or near 80 which shows his value. He's one of those you appreciate more when he's not there. The week o...

I’m not watching or listening to the game, can someone tell me why you’re all getting in a hissy fit? Marginal knock on in build up to a try for Munster In other news Munster wingers are showing up well In fairness the light bending around zebo makes for a wonderful sunset on the cote d'azur.

It is- but you'll never get a perfect ref, it's a complex game open to interpretation. Don't mind they aren't perfect. Inconsistency, calling what they don't see, calling offences one way for one team and another for the other are the problem. Going back to say Nigel Owens, he wasn't perfect, wasn'...
