Re: Suspicion still exists wrong man was given All Black rol

NZRU old men’s club at its worst. The most positive spin I can think of is that Foster was appointed with one eye firmly on a similar decision several years ago, with Deans coaching the seemingly invincible Crusaders and Henry coming unstuck in the RWC. Problem is, Robertson has every appearance of ...

This was quite funny from the Government in the court case yesterday. Casey said the Prime Minister sometimes was Bloomfield’s mouthpiece, confirming the public health advice. People were being asked to change their behaviour voluntarily, she said. “You think it is much more likely that everybody s...

What does local even mean? There is minimal loyalty in NZ between where a player comes from, plays provincially, and plays super rugby. Not sure about aus but suspect it’s the same. All this hype about local kids dreaming of playing for their local clubs sounds great but it’s from a bygone era. Sopo...

I think they should limit it. I would want Australian teams to be dominated by Australians. But I think the current approach has to go. I think there is enough quality in both nations for ten teams.

Re: Trans-Tasman comp to replace Super Rugby in 2021

There are plenty of competitions around the world that involve multiple nations. None of them have the eligibility rules we do, none of them have a fixation with playing for your home nation. All of them are better competitions than super rugby.

But sure, it’s a stupid idea.

Re: Trans-Tasman comp to replace Super Rugby in 2021

Australia loses players in the same fashion NZ does, yet Australia would play All Black wages to fill out their regional team rosters? That doesn't sound feasible or sensible. Doesn't do anything for Australian player development or really 'solve' anything, it's not even a bandaid. They don’t need ...
