Re: Pool D opener: Los Pumas - England, 09 Sep 1900 GMT
I'm of the opinion that all reds should be 20 minutes and then they are allowed a sub (but the player that was red carded cannot enter the game again) I've been saying for years that it's the way it should be done but some stupid people answered to me that it's not punishing enough for the whole team

Re: Pool D opener: Los Pumas - England, 09 Sep 1900 GMT
Imagine guys like curry who have been training so hard for months of preparation and who get their dreams and hard work destroyed for a split second accident.
Rewatching Carreras's foul play, it looks actually far dirtier than Curry's foul so if he doesn't get a red, that's bullshit logic

As a neutral fan in that game, it's one of the most ridiculous red I've ever seen.

Injuries: Ntamack out definitely Willemse out but in the "reserve group" Marchand out 4 to 5 weeks Baille out for another week? Danty? 1 week? Jelonch working on his fitness Wardi did well I thought yesterday, but Baille would bring much more solidity against SA/IRE. I'm clearly not sure Baille is ...

Re: France v South Africa RWC final discussion thread
On what basis are you claiming South African and France are better than Ireland? Seriously, Ireland are in for a shot but they have never made the final four ever and the lack of experience in that arena hurts them. Both France and South Africa can and have been inconsistent. France I believe will ...

Re: RWC Opening Match Les Bleus vs Les Tous Noirs Match Thread
How was Smith responsible for nullifying DuPont? By being better than him. Dupont was run-shy after Smith caught him a few times off the scrum. Forced him to shuffle it on and kick more and his kicks weren’t particularly dangerous, one even went out on the full. Smith was good but was also lucky to...

Re: RWC Opening Match Les Bleus vs Tous Les Noirs Match Thread
I am intrigued by this game. A loss is not the end of the world for any of the two teams, so I think they will play with no pressure - well, at least the ABs. The French will have the weight of the local fans expectations on their shoulders. France looked good but I think they are given more credit...

Re: Current best player in the world?
Du Pont and Kolisi are the 2 most influential players in the World. Boks look lost without him as a player and as a leader. I totally agree about Kolisi's influence as a leader and person on his teams but I think you're a bit overrating his influence on the field (though he is clearly one of the wo...

Re: Current best player in the world?
You need to watch more NH rugby. That's where the best games are happening now. Club rugby isn't test rugby. There has always been players who were club freaks that never amounted to much at test rugby. Skelton has absolutely mangled basically the Irish pack for the last few seasons Not to mention ...

Re: Current best player in the world?
I'm amazed that people are voting for Marx and Barrett. They are both only adequate in their core duties in the lineout Doesn’t matter. They are x-factor players. Marx is a turnover machine. Best poacher since McCaw or Brussouw. In the loose he is an absolute beast, never fails to make metres. Grea...

Re: Current best player in the world?
Sheenan is the best hooker for me but he's no where near DuPont as best player. Sheenan is clearly one of the top 3 hookers in the world and probably the best one for a team with a fast expansive game plan but overall, I think Marx shades him because of how deadly he is in static phases and at brea...

DuPont. Marx isn't even definitely the best hooker. To me, he is. Let's see: -Incredibly powerful scrummager -very good thrower -possibly the best poacher at ANY position, let alone among the hookers (I've read a stat where they said he was the player who got the most turnovers at international lev...

Argentina. Japan. Samoa. Not sure England will make the QF this time. Actually, I was not that impressed by Ireland either. Basing on Scotland's recent showing in France or SA's today performance, they will have to seriously up their game against them You have to consider that this was the 1st game...

Honestly there were only a few passages in that second half where Ireland was crisp and having the ball out at the pace they are capable of. No where near their potential and to a man they know it. Good spot for Andy, plenty to work on and no lazy confidence will come as a result. If they had blown...

Re: 2023 Autumn Nations Series R4 Wales vs Springboks
Complete domination from the Boks. Unreal stuff really. Strange thing is that the Boks don’t actually look that good, but it also feels like they’ve left about 10 points out there They still look much more watchable than 90% of the last Boks teams. I especially like the attempts by their forwards t...

To come back to Russell, I love how he can time his passes perfectly, drawing the defender, and releasing his support player in the right timing. I love his inspirations that create gaps and unbalanced. If he were playing for the ABs who always have 3-4 support players to finish a line break, he wo...

Not as bad as losing Dupont, but probably the next worst? At 24 and if desire and form allows, he'll be at the next two World Cups. I'd say losing Penaud would have been worse than losing Ntamack, particularly considering who are their respective backups. Still an horrible loss of course, firstly f...

Re: Scotland v France
Townsend's HT talk did the trick. :D A gutsy fightback from 14 man Scotland but can't help but think a full strength French team would not have folded so spectacularly in the 2nd half. Nice win for the men in black. Mo'unga cemented his place as the top flyhalf. Would still like to see specialist 15 at fullback. Front row- good... possibly subs on earlier Locks - phenomenal... both BBBR & ScoBa Loose trio... Frizzell best game in black, Cane nice presence and tackle's, Ardie more...
