Re: NZ Politics Thread
Well, during the Ardern era, we often heard Booji's dislike of Ardern on this thread, seemingly due to her personality rather than anything else. Ahem ... nothing to do with her personality. I have nothing against her personality wise. She seems a nice person. Her politics and leadership style is w...

I guess what I’m saying is that I find it highly unlikely he would have allow Seymour and Winnie to highjack the narrative. He still would have lead . There are different styles of political leadership, but what's your definition of leadership in this context? Fake sincerity better... Ardern had th...

To fool the faithful. We've just witnessed a 6 year masterclass of fooling the faithful. Even when Ardern stepped down Robertson stepped up to fill the breach. Looks like it's continuing too, just with a different party. Just that Luxon isn't delivering a masterclass. He's delivering a barely passa...

Is that the version with extra scenes not included in the original release? I watched the original recently as it was on Sky TV and I missed some of those extra scenes. Especially as Willard travelled up the river on the patrol boat and was reading up on Kurtz's dossier. I remember the line "If we k...

I note that the V8s are not being raced in a National Park or amongst kids at a playcentre. Cannot believe this thread is still going - they were racing in a marine sanctuary. Guess what gets priority? Despite claims that this would have been broadcast to 1billion viewers (where did that figure com...

Hands up everyone that performed multiple, sold-out, shows at Wembley stadium with just you and a guitar. Very much in the eye of the beholder, my friend reckons he was shit because it was just him and his guitar, my wife's friend says he was brilliant for the same reason. Yep, had a mate insisting...

Re: Ranking the World Cup Winning Scrum-Halves
Kinda depends on the teams play style doesn't it? Smith was perfect for NZ because he was excellent at distribution. However for a team that focuses more on rucks and mauls etc you would probably want someone like FdP. If a team focuses more on after match pie eating, then Piri Weepu enters the pic...

Just how is the wildlife being endangered here, seriously. A ridiculous overreaction by all concerned. Yeah when you think about how much commercial and recreational shipping/boating is in the harbour every day it does seem ridiculous that a sailing regatta is subject to such draconian rules. On an...

Gym atmosphere matters so much to me, I’ve discovered. Temporarily moved home and have joined a local gym. Very small, hardly any equipment. Occasionally I go to a slightly less local gym that is renowned. Pro bodybuilders have trained there, that kind of gym. It’s massive, impressive array of equi...

For the sake of the dolphins, I would strongly support moving the event to Queenstown. Of course, along with any related financial benefits, but mainly for the dolphins. What about the trout fishery? If it's anywhere near the spawning season I demand that racing be delayed, postponed or cancelled.

The sad truth is few businesses in Lyttelton especially make money out of this . People are bused in in then bused out . A few hang around but bugger all . You seem to be labouring under the delusion that sailing is a real sport or that I care. Let me disabuse you of that notion: it isn't and I don't. There are 15,000 Hector dolphins and the revenue is earned on a per capita basis. So if one was killed the Christchurch economy would only make $14,999,000. Re: Jeremy Guscott v Manu Tuilagi - who was better?
The answer clearly depends on who beat the All Blacks the most. Guscott - 1993: Eng x1, Lions x1 Tuilagi - 2012: Eng x1, 2019: Eng x1 It’s a draw. However, the quality of Tuilagi’s performances in those wins puts him well clear of Guscott. In RWC 1995 in the semifinal loss to NZ Jonah Lomu gets all...
