Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Only 42% of the back line is from Munster. :? :? I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Apart from replacing 2 of the 3 lads that everyone agrees are past it (ROG is somehow still on the bench), the only changes are injury related, and every 50/50 call has still gone to a Munster player. With Murray ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
POM has been the outstanding backrower this season outside of Ferris, Heaslip and the Tullow Tank. People's disdain for Kidney is now so strong that it seems no Munster player should be playing for Ireland. Pathetic.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
So, on RTE just now, Qunnie that David Humphries said that the reason that Anscombe for being picked despite also interviewing Penny, was that Penny was too strong a personality. TBF Quinnie said that the spine of the Ulster team had a significant input and didn't need too much instruction whereas ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Great Article by Francis in today's Sindo. Really sticks it to Kidney and a couple of perceptive words about Munster: Stuart Lancaster rings the Monsignor for a consolatory chat a few days after Twickenham. Towards the end of the conversation he hits him with a proposition. Ireland to play England a...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Fanning made reference to a short list of five for the Munster job, with Foley being one of them. Anybody know who the other 4 are? Pretty sure (oh please God no!) EOS is one of them.

Re: The Official Scottish Rugby Thread
Somebody on this thread mentioned the Herald (a paper I have never heard of) and a reporter called the "ferrit". I read some of the articles (before the paywall kicked in) and I have to say they really don't hold anything back. Very hardhitting. Most reporters in Ireland would be very careful about ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Nagle is taking an awful long time to come through. I hope by the time Henderson is 23 or 24 he'll have more than a handful of Ulster caps!!! He'll be miles ahead of Leamy for one thing. Thats central contracted Leamy to you. He's already starting ahead of Leamy for Munster. Speaking of Munster is ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Somebody on the Scottish rugby thread mentioned an article laying into the SRU for "sacking" Sean Lineen. While at the website I came across this. You can taste the bitterness with regard to Matt Wlliams: Irish eyes take different view of Kidney's talents James Joyce and Myles na gCopaleen (aka Bria...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
It reflects well on Munster that they have resigned Howlett. Between his injury and the new IRFU regs it would have been easy to say thanks for all you have done but here is the door. Loyalty like that is a really good selling point for Munster and I cannot imagine that Howlett will forget it. TBF, ...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Wonders will never cease. A half decent Article by Huge Farrelly "HALLO, what are you boyos still doing here? Thought you would have gone home by now." It was the day after the end of Ireland's World Cup dream and a group of Irish journalists were back in Wellington's 'Cake Tin' to take in the quar...
