Re: Women's 2021 (2022) Rugby World Cup thread
It just occurred to me that Ireland aren’t there. What happened to Ireland? https://i.imgur.com/M3aA8av.jpg Failed to qualify after multiple attempts. Can it expand to sixteen teams other than Ireland who else could field a good women's team (Spain any South Americans teams) Colombia played in the ...

Re: Australia to ditch Super Rugby in 2024?
I love the amount of Rugby available of STAN, but I much preferred watching it on Foxtel. STAN is a bit clunky and the overall experience isn't as good, IMO. In saying that, RA should be looking at whichever platform can increase viewership, with the money obviously always a consideration as well. ...

Re: Australia to ditch Super Rugby in 2024?
Tahs fans would be happy with rugby ceasing to exist outside of the Shute Shield. Bunch of insular plum. I count myself as a Reds fan now, but I maintain our Eastwood memberships. During the season we watch the Woodies. I grew up following the club, playing for it, and will be a member until I cark...

Re: Australia to ditch Super Rugby in 2024?
Like the idea of Women's comp being part of super, but will require a shift in thinking re pro rugby. Would Aus need to make their women pro for it to work? Yep. I reckon that too, but seems they not doing anything in that regard until 2025? I honestly think it a great way for game to expand though...

Re: Australia to ditch Super Rugby in 2024?
So just to check the maths here. The current RA deal is worth 33m - that’s super rugby. Which is 12 teams playing 14 times plus finals games - 84 plus finals games Where as an AU only comp would be: - 8 teams playing 14 times (home and away I assume) plus finals - 56 games plus finals I can see mor...

Re: Australia to ditch Super Rugby in 2024?
All this bickering is tiresome. NZ and Australia need each other and deep down we all know it. Also, a transtasman women’s competition should be a part of any new deal. It doesn’t have to be big and flash or get the most money but it’s essential if the sport in our part of the world is to get an un...

In the year of the Reds/Brumbies final (Oz only part) the 2 highest rating games in Oz were semi and final, after that were actually Crusaders/Reds surprisingly enough. And I dio think if you get Oz finals, but even couple of top Oz teams playing each other they I would hope rate very highly in OZ....

I'd be happy to watch a local Oz comp with 8 or so teams. Will anyone fork out for the broadcasting rights though? We need the TV money. Our highest rating games are our derbies. Of all the territories taken over by the Russians, Crimea is the dearest to a lot of the Russians, including Russians who don't support the war. Part of our argument is around creating a structure that caters more for commercial interests and markets in most notably Australia. Which has always been the biggest market in terms of potential growth in value in SANZAAR.
