Re: Great solo tries
Just out of interest, mr bungle, why did you decide to change your original post? At the time it looked like Lomu was turning his big frame around. Hardly worth such a laugh at his 'poor' defence :? It was in response to your first Lomu comment, you dug yourself in deeper with subsequent unread pos...

Re: Great solo tries
Cullen is standing still with both feet planted waiting for burke. Why would you expect lomu to assume that cullen's best placed to cover the wing when there is clearly zero chance of him covering the wing and when it looks an absolutely certainty that he'll tackle the ball carrier ? Because in my ...

FWIW, I've played rugby. Being caught out wide up against the likes of Burke is my absolute nightmare. I wouldn't have a f**king clue what Jona should have done. You dont have jonas pace though i guess. You agreed earlier that he did the right thing, so im not clear what. changed your mind. I...

Re: Great solo tries
THE POINT IS THAT HE COULD HAVE PASSED OUT OF THE TACKLE and there was no cover defence with cullen having also committed to burke. BUT LOMU HAD A CHANCE TO TACKLE BURKE ten metres before he even got to Cullen. It was inside the Aus 10-metre mark, and he looked like he thought about it for a second...

It's not a great photo but it's a photo of my eldest lad during his first game of rugby on the weekend. His team won 45-20 despite the officials not keeping score (he told me). https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/t1.0-9/1002689_10154066772165224_2074997846099957025_n.jpg I think ...

Re: Great solo tries
Watched the clip again and I can hardly see why Lomu is even criticised. :? Two ABs directly miss tackles and then Cullen jumps in the air. Each time, Lomu anticipates the tackles being made and so slows down - perhaps to cut off a pass out of the tackle. That's often what you do - trust your team ...

He'd have offloaded to the winger. The try is cullen's fault for doing the haka when he should have been making a tackle. Nah, Lomu wasn't even aware the wing was there until it was far too late; he was looking in the other direction. He should've committed to the tackle when he was within arm's le...
