I can see why England sacked him when they did, but how did he manage that victory over NZ in the semi final, and also the GS? What did he stop doing?

The bloke that threw it is still in front of the ball when the receiver catches it, suggesting that any forward motion in the pass was preserved momentum from that of the passer.

If we’d played like that for the last 10 of the Fiji game it wouldn’t have been close, but then would Fiji have had enough self belief to beat Oz?
Whatever, look at Fiji’s winning margin over Oz, and ours.

What Jeff said. Perhaps refs should have an extra couple of lessons about which laws you are not expected to enforce if one team is losing by a country mile, or if they want to get a reputation for having a feel for the game. Fvck me, tell me you're a Wales fan without telling me you're a Wales fan...

A few years ago in the Brecon Beacons, that well known tropical region of mid Wales, there were a couple of military deaths from heat exhaustion and dehydration. A few years before that a soldier collapsed after a night exercise in the summer, stopped peeing, and was on dialysis for a month. Give th...

Re: The Official Welsh Rugby Thread
Our critics are guilty of cognitive dissonance - they said that we would be smashed by Fiji, who were higher than us in the world rankings, but when beat them after having to make over 3 times the number of tackles, we are criticised for scraping home against weaker opponents, and only with the help...

Fiji from that list, voting for one the two teams that will almost certainly knock us out at the group stage - of the whole world - Ireland, France, or Argentina

Re: How will officiating affect the outcome of this World Cup ?
I think players will make more mistakes than refs and ‘ruin’ the tournament for their team. Players will choose to tackle incorrectly or go for interceptions that can’t make. So for me players will ‘ruin’ more games. I don’t subscribe to the theory cards ruin games. As the Friday night game showed ...

This was exemplified about 2 years ago when Italy had their first hooker red carded, and their second off injured. They had to lose a second player and go down to 13 men. What if a team loses both hookers injured through foul play, eg failed HIA after a high tackle? Is it right then that the team i...

Re: SA going to be to hot for Ireland?
The Boks lost in the pool to NZ 4 years ago on their way to the title. In 2007 they walloped Eng in the group stages and subsequently met them in the final. Ireland are on a 13 game winning streak at the moment, highly likely to be 15 by the time they meet the Boks. If they come out the wrong side ...

Re: SA going to be to hot for Ireland?
Ireland, whatever you do just don’t concede four lineout penalties in a row, or get two yellow cards one for your captain, or a red card when you’re hot on attack, or throw the ball directly to the opposition in front of the posts. Just don’t do that and you’ll be fine. The pain gets easier, I know...

Ireland should target SA’s backs - they only have to injure 2 to force SA to field a forward in the back line

Will the officials ruin this World Cup ? There are few comparable to Nigel Owens. One bad decision namely a red card could affect the outcome of matches. Will Tier 2 teams be penalized more ? Will it be because of the officials subconsciously favour the established teams or because some of those pl...
