Re: Lawrence Okoye trying out for the NFL - fudge

Stupid. He clearly wasn't going to devote a lifetime to shotput or discuss or whatever he did. RFU should have offered a central contract. What's stupid is people thinking still he would make a great Rugby player when London Irish already released him. Power and speed alone do not a great Ruby play...

Re: Lawrence Okoye trying out for the NFL - fudge

I detect a character flaw with Okoye. He didn't persist with rugby, he hasn't persisted with Athletics and now he's trying something new. It's like he feels he should naturally become a star in his chosen field and when it doesn't happen, he goes and finds another challenge. He was a wing in rugby ...

Re: The Rugby Strength and Conditioning Thread

Just watching that video of Rip teaching the squat. When I had a coach he coached me to pause for half a second at the bottom of the squat so I wasn't bouncing out and using momentum to get out of the hole. That way I was stimulating more muscles (?), Rip is teaching it when you bounce out. What's ...

Re: The Rugby Strength and Conditioning Thread

Ok, it turns out my knee is sore because, as a very experienced physio told me today, I have no ACL. The MCL diagnosis I was given turned out to be completely wrong. So, that's me f**ked - need the GP referral and NHS etc. I have plenty of pre-hab exercises to do, but if the operation is going to t...

Bobbity is usually better at giving starter tips to n00bs, but he'll recommend that you get your hands on the book "Starting Strength". Re: LANCASTER OUT?

It was a fantastic result and i always enjoy watching Carter look bewildered when he's kicked out his armchair. I hope they press on from here and not have the odd one off performance. Just like a bad game doesn't mean the boot a good one shouldnt make players or management untouchable.

Re: LANCASTER OUT?

I'd love to know why Sir Clive was overlooked for the job. According to The Sunday Telegraph, it wasn't just Lancaster and Mallett who had interviews. McGeechan was on the interview panal so perhaps that had something to do with it??? He doesn't seem to be a fan of the RFU especially Andrew. Should...

Re: LANCASTER OUT?

Farrell, Barritt, Ben Youngs, Brown on the wing. Botha, Tom Johnson, Dowson. There have been lots of questionable selections over the course of the year. Although I want an England win on Saturday - I would be a little concerned that a narrow win would result Barritt, Farrell and others being given...

That's my understanding of boxing gloves too. You can still feel the knuckles when you get hit in boxing.
Exactly, makes me smile when people say that gloves protect fighters heads. I ask what headguards protect then? Lol

There's not a lot of difference in the actual amount of padding on the knuckles now. Remember the early MMA stuff, 3 fights in 1 night no gloves? Broken hands galore. No wonder they bought gloves
