This side of the draw are playing for the trophy, the other side are playing for the 3v4 playoff.
This is the kind of thinking that knocked us out in 2019

Ireland are so far ahead of NZ right now, a loss against them next week would be a bigger upset than the 99 NZ v France semi. Don't choke boys.

Well before? Ireland first made no. 1 in 2019. Now when did the cellar dwellers of Supe head north? And not just the real dreg Cheetahs. Ireland's results in 2019 include a loss to Japan. This year's Ireland is head and shoulders better than that 2019 side. I wonder what the difference might be? Ho...

Re: RWC Final Pool Matches NZ v Uruguay,

Not at all. I thought Uruguay gave it everything in that first half, and their effort was a credit to them. But this is a rugby forum, so what use is there in us sitting around pretending that they were well coached when there was loads of evidence to the contrary. I'm sorry not to join the T2 circ...

Re: RWC Final Pool Matches NZ v Uruguay,

Again, on the point about shape I fundamentally disagree. I've only got highlights to work from here, so it's hard to find good examples of normal phase play. But here's their shape in multiphase before the replacement prop's try. https://i.ibb.co/m0RZZvm/Screenshot-2023-10-06-08-27-12-41-f9ee0578f...

Re: RWC Final Pool Matches NZ v Uruguay,

I disagree. If anything, I thought their effort and energy compensated for a fairly obvious lack of coaching. Their defensive shape was hilariously bad at times, and players honeypotted around the ball like an u7s football side. In attack they swarmed around the ball and put too many players into r...

BB looking fast again He has the acceleration he needs, but the top speed looks to be a bit down. He is still faster than most. Just needs to stop kicking the ball away. Ireland will be hoping he plays so he kicks the ball to them and we have to defend. He’s a liability in big games if he kicks too...

I get the feeling we're winning too easy like 2007. I thought we had a chance to make the final but I'm starting to get an out in the quarters vibe. Only saving grace is we already lost to France. That's my feeling too but if we can bring the intensity of mount smart anything can happen. If our top...

He made some mistakes but on balance he made a very strong contribution. He helped tidy up quite a bit of sloppy ball. Roigard? I hate to say it but Christie played better than Roigard. Re: RWC Final Pool Matches NZ v Uruguay,

We had 9 turnovers lost in the first half. 4 from Roigard. Our ruck ball has been poor. We're clearly holding back and they're getting away with murder at the breakdown. Wouldn't read too much into it. There is absolutely no reason for poor breakdown work and conceding turnovers. You can hold back ...

The Italian defense was awful (particularly some of their backs), but strangely the ABs would have benefited from the match. The forward pack looks so much better with Frizzel on at 6.
