First attempt at a haircut was brutal. Second attempt just buzzed it and it’s almost as good as a barber. If it wasn’t so messy cleaning up the hair afterwards I’d probably do it myself from now on I'll probably stick to buzzcuts for the foreseeable. Way cheaper and fairly easy. It'll lessen the pa...

Testing system appears to be broken and that's a major concern. We've tested more per head than South Korea. Top 5 in Europe. The results are too slow coming back. That's results. So as of today, we have more test results than South Korea per head. I agree it's been a slow starter but they're getti...

The locals have all gone a bit zealot over this - I realise that they’re trying to put the frightened on people but some of it was just anti-Dub bigotry. West cork holiday homes are hardly the preserve of Dubs - there’d be more people with holiday homes from Cork city there and that’s hardly within...

For the third day running I’ve been washing down our guttering and fascia, removing 10 years of grime and algae. Not very challenging work as we have a lowslung bungalow, but there’s an awful lot of it and it’s boring as fcuk. Did manage to break one of the down pipes when I removed part of it after...

Down 5kg since lock down. Normally I work away from home so I ate in the hotel/restaurants most evenings, supplemented by 3 - 5 beers a night. Home is a veggie diet and no booze, so lifestyle has changed completely. Yeah working away from home is recipe for weight gain Inevitably you end up eating ...

The whole framing of dealing with disease as a "battle" and those "strong" people "fighting it" has long been known to be both unhelpful and pretty shitty for people going through it. Fifteen years ago I was hearing this from cancer sufferers; while I agree it might not be the most important thing ...

We are in a definite cold spot in mid Wales, most routine work has stopped, and while we hear of the odd case, mostly we are ready and waiting to start filling the community hospital with all the extra hastily created beds and oxygen supply, but as of yet very few patients. I think that the DGHs, n...

Saw a table of the hospitals in Ireland on the Dublin Live website, and the interesting (chilling) thing for me is that the two border hospitals, Letterkenny and Cavan, top the table for hospitals outside of Dublin, with both having more Covid19 cases than either Cork or Limerick.

Neill Back. Actually was he an all time great? I don’t think so. Would he even make it as a pro in today's game? He was less than 15 stone. Often heard about Scottish prop nicknamed Mighty Mouse McLaughlin. He was apparently only 14 odd stones in weight. A player from the ‘70’s. Willie John McBride...
