Re: Ireland v Argentina, Sun Nov 21st, KO @ 2:15pm

Not sure if it's because Casey is on or since he is at fullback, but Carbery looks far more switched on in attack.

Re: Ireland v Argentina, Sun Nov 21st, KO @ 2:15pm

Obvious red card, what an idiot. The mouth on POM though :uhoh: To be fair, with the new non interventionist TMO it sure as hell got Carley's attention. I don't blame him at all for his angry reaction on that nasty 'tackle'. But he kept on going, even after the ref blew his whistle and told him off...

Much more zip with these halfbacks.

And Baird may not add bulk, but he does add great athleticism.

A bit loose, but it deserves time to settle.

Re: Ireland v Argentina, Sun Nov 21st, KO @ 2:15pm

We're learning that Murray definitely is playing too slow for the type of game we can play now.

And we're kicking far too much ball away today.

But good perseverance, and the pack is still delivering well enough.

Re: Ireland v Argentina, Sun Nov 21st, KO @ 2:15pm

Seems like a missed opportunity to get Coombes or Timoney in there - I can only assume they haven't had the minutes in the relevant roles in training. We've no cover for number 8, which is a worry given that Doris has historically been a bit fragile. Baird is a nice prospect, but he is basically a ...

Hmmm, good to see Balacoune start, and to seeing how Carbery does from the start. But that bench again, what on earth do we get from having POM on the bench? Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread

People may have lost a bit of perspective on 'Schmidt-ball' after that last poor year. It was developed based on the players and skills at the time, and it worked very well. (building on the point that Murray fitted Schmidt-ball well). We had some great successes with it, including the NZ victories....

What a great team performance! And well done to Lowe: his defence will never be perfect, but that tackle he made in the 77th minute was a peach. . If we want a backrow sub that can cover backrow including 7, Max Deegan would have made more sense, or even Leavy. (Timoney wasn't going to be thrown in without experience, and Coombes doesn't cover 7 as well as not being available). Deegan isn't in the squad and has the same number of caps as Ti...

POM. Sodding POM. The one selection that could piss me off, and Farrell goes for it. I'd have preferred a Balacoune to have been in the picture on the wings, but Conway did great last week in fairness. So Lowe or Keet? You'd go with the younger man, even though his defence is still suspicious. Lowe seems to have an important role in coming in to midfield in Ireland's attacking stra...

I think there is only one selection that would really piss me off, and that is POM (whether starting or on the bench). I think it's interesting that the Beeb is featuring the story about Germany's concern for 100k deaths so heavily. For a country that has well over 142k counted deaths (of course they only count if they died within 28 days of testing positive), and has hardly reported on it's own 200 deaths a day. N...

All Blacks did their heavy weights session in UCD today. Surprised they didn’t use the Leinster gym across the road.
