Re: Lions tour 2025 - f****d already

All of NZ (except maybe Enz) is praying that the 2025 Lions coach is Ian Foster. Holy shit. We really need to run a Stalinist revisionist campaign wiping all anti-Foz NZ media articles, forum posts, Facebook groups et al from history and start planting stories in the UK media about Foster's genius,...

Fair enough. Well, I thoroughly disagree with that. These are pro teams who should be able to handle the change. And the quality should not drop away when new players come on, quite the opposite. Bringing too many players in at once can lead to issues, that is a different story, and what happened t...

He was. First time I've seen him in person for awhile and he is better than at any stage of his career....

He certainly has the best results of any recent Lions coach. The fact that he is the only recent Lions coach might have something to with that, but anyway.

Would kiwis have an ulterior motive in wanting him to continue to focus on the Lions rather than, say, disrupting the Chiefs again? Perhaps

Medical staff on the field when the ball is in play, not physically interfering with the game or impeding in any way? There was probably a Lions physio doing exactly the same thing all throughout the test.

Don't think the numbers on the backs of the loosies matter at all, save for how they pack in most scrums. Papalii was playing like a blindside, Savea like an openside and Akira like a no 8/blindside hybrid from what I could see.

Who drops out for Cane once he returns will be interesting.

I'm not convinced, no clear gameplan and no new ideas as far as I can see. Bit of credit to wobs midfield though, stopped our backs from getting any rhythm early. The game plan in the first half was to play expansive rugby in awful conditions. They had an (admittedly swirling) tail wind in the firs...

You’re mental. That was Brodie clearly rebuilding his cvnt meter back to full power and it was great to see. I was there. The ABs weren’t for most of it. There are two main causes at play. The first what Matt Williams calls an 'overly-officious' approach to refereeing the game; both in terms of volume of penalties as well as referrals to the TMO. Throw in Jordan & Reece'ss instinct for the gaps and we have an attacking force as good as any AB side in the last 20 odd years. The contrast is stark. A, relatively minor, breach of team protocols and Rennie stands down three players - one of whom is likely an important starter.
