I'm chilling as best I can in 35C Italian sunshine, sunshine. So you are a part time, unprofessional match official. Good for you sport  Now tell me, how many international or top level games, which is what is being discussed on this thread, have you been a match official? Er... so I am no...

Re: ARs and offside
Interesting reading what posters think ARs should see, the expectations of what ARs should do/see/report, etc. I don't get this attitude. We are not having a go at a ref or AR in particular, just noticing that illegal play which ruins a lot of the spectacle is seemingly unnoticed and asking why. If...

Re: The Rugby Championship: Wallabies discussion
Did anyone watch Kafer explain how the Lions stifled the ABs attack? Pretty much rushing defence preventing the ball from going to the outside channels and making strong offensive tackles on the inside mainly by the forwards. Big difference we don't have forwards bar Coleman and maybe timani to dom...

I thought (probably wrongly) that when they went from being "touch judges" to "assistant referees" they did have power to rule on off-sides as well as forward passes, knock-ons and foul play. They do seem to pick up on most of that... just not off-sides.

Re: English Spivs kill off Lions/BaaBaas v NZ game in Novemb
I'm slightly surprised people are so anti the idea - it's really quite a traditional one. I'd love to see an old fashioned Barbarians as the cream of European rugby team rather than another crop of Sanzar mercenaries. Looking at the schedule it's also not as absurd as I assumed - I hadn't realised ...

Re: ARs and offside
Why not have two on-field referees? One to manage the offside line and other to police the ruck? Rugby League is a much simpler game to referee than Rugby yet at the highest level they have deemed that the game is still too complex for just one referee Do they need to go that far though? Just make ...

ARs and offside
As a neutral watching the Lions series, it was apparent that both sides were offside quite a lot. This is a bit shit as attacks are limited as the defense is on them in no time. The ref can't be expected to see this all the time, but what are the ARs doing? Surely this should be one of the main thin...

He should have asked the ref for extra time. Poite listened to him when he demanded the illegal TMO intervention. Surprised the cops didn't come on and sort Poite out to be honest. So, when the ref goes to the TMO, who is supposed to make the ruling on the video replay. I thought once you go upstairs the TMO makes the call. What is interesting is what will the New Great East do about this issue. Well, the view of the (evil and deranged and sick moron) alt-right is that the continent should be isolated for a hundred years or more, so that nature can take its course and the problem can resolve itself. The second point he makes is the key one. Up the level of foreign aid to address the issue now. Populations like those in the graph are completely unsustainable. SS: for safety reasons it has to be ruled this way. Materiality should be considered. I'v...
