He stamped because Cole had eye gouged him, he showed the eye rips to the ref who ignored it Healy has had an exemplary record all his career. Absolute...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread
If we’re desperate for a like for like Daly replacement (and I’m not sure we are) then Malins would make sense. However we’ve already got Furbank who can play multiple positions reasonably well. So think we just pick the next best outside back available be that; Steward, Arundell, Muir, Murley etc. ...

Re: The Official and ONLY England v Ireland Match Thread
Both things can be true. The RFU is a shambles and can’t get out of its own way, and Borthwick and some of his coaching appointees are an absolute clusterfûck 100%. But the latter is probably the best we can expect, given the environment they're expected to work in. If you were a top level coach, w...

Re: The Official and ONLY England v Ireland Match Thread
But then we look at England. And we realise it's not even about the coaching / head coach. Because the overall structure of the game is fundamentally broken. The RFU is morally bankrupt, led by an unethical know-nothing. The governance structure is verging on corrupt (from insiders who've previousl...

Re: The Official and ONLY England v Ireland Match Thread
If you go by Ben Darwin it's because you pick from too many clubs which is not conducive to a cohesive team. Australia were winning World Cups when they were only picking from two clubs (maybe those losing super rugby sides recently might be a blessing in disguise) https://www.theguardian.com/sport...

Re: The Official and ONLY England v Ireland Match Thread
One way or another, we do seem unable to get the best out of our talent at international level. We've won 9 out of the last 20 under 20/21 6N tournaments - and yet we've lost 4 consecutive games against a side that has won none of them, and had 7 wooden spoons during that time. :x If you go by Ben ...

He can bang it up. Not to an Esterhuizen degree, but he can give us some go forward. Once again, name all the teams that play a 12 like Dingwall or (when he was in) Faz? Did you see Tuipolotu on Sat? Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread
Saints have stolen a little bit of a march on the opposition this weekend. Bit lucky in how the fixtures fell, getting the Falcons when Saints had so many away on England duty - but they've opened up a 7 point gap at the top. Thereafter there's little in it with the next 6 sides within a handful of...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread
He's a tidy enough player, and he's going well for Lyon, but it would be a weird decision by both parties. Jackson would almost certainly be taking less cash than he could get in France, and Sarries would be signing a 32yo 10 on decent wedge. Sarries should be throwing the kitchen sink at some of t...

Re: 2023/2024 European Champions Cup
I'm no Exeter fan but surely the Glasgow scrumhalf literally just yanking the Exeter scrumhalf to the ground off the ball was a clear penalty before the flanker broke his bind? Yep. Right in front of the ref, they were both as bad as each other in that exchange and, as the ref said, there was nothi...

Hastings jesus.... Mercer is a classy player. Mercer was great, but shout out for Akkerman, who was absolutely brutal in contact on both sides of the ball. Highlights of the game for me were: - McGuigan stopping Barbeary dead in his tracks after a 10m+ runup. Serious power there, and no idea why he...
