Re: anyone else mentally struggle in their 40's ?
Literally. If you manage to live 40 years again you'll be very close to the life expectancy age of most western countries. Ja, I should have added it's quite a reflective moment. I find myself assessing what I have a achieved, and I'm quite critical of myself. I think about what my Dad must have th...

Re: anyone else mentally struggle in their 40's ?
I never thought that turning 40 would be such a big deal. I've never been bothered about my age or birthdays, but the big 4-O really had an impact on me. Feels like the halfway marker (if I'm lucky).

Re: Reasons England can beat the Springboks
Bore them to death ? Have you seen South Africa play recently. That’s a bilateral agreement. Anyone who accuses this South African team of being boring knows nothing about rugby. I'll accept that accusation for a few years ago, but the last two years we have brought in another dimension to our play...

Re: Springboks vs England . RWC Semi Final thread
The Boks seem to be focussed on the final and a repeat, plus 4 titles. What gives you that impression? I heard PSdT being interviewed yesterday and he was under no illusion that Saturday is going to be a massive test. I remember in 2019 people thought we would steamroll Wales in the final but it en...

I'm just so proud of the boys; playing with smarts and not just being the big dumb Boks of yesteryear. It's added a whole dimension to our game and I love it and have som much appreciaion for it. Absolutely. Even if we had lost yesterday, I think this is probably the best and smartest Bok team we'v...

Re: QF 4 - France vs South Africa - Sunday 15 October 23
Yes you've got to give Rassie credit for innovation. Even Kolbe's attempted dropkick from the back of the ruck. Yes he missed, but it was worth a pop and nobody was expecting it. I've never seen anyone try something like that before, they must have waited until the ruck was in the right (i.e. left) ...

Re: QF 4 - France vs South Africa - Sunday 15 October 23
Again, what was genius in a that move? Even a cyclop could have noted that the Bok scrum was getting dominant in their last few scrums. It is genius for the reasons outlined above. Not necessarily for our scrum dominance, but to also slow the game down a bit, legally. He also used a little-known ru...

I dunno man. I like Willemse, but I don't think he'd make a ballsy move like that and something as unorthodox as that, without the blessing of the coaches. My gut tells me the the coaches identified it as an available law that most people and players have forgotten about to use in an "in case of em...

That team just shows how insane our depth is.
But of that entire list, the only one I'd like to have seen in a Bok jersey is Duhan.

Re: Why is the marketing so bad for this Rugby world cup?
I agree. Working with content creators such as Squidge is easy publicity for the game. I'd have as many of them on board as possible, and give them access to players and the games too. The social media stuff World Rugby are putting out is also dreadful. Just re-hashed memes. Very little innovation f...

I know his career was blighted by the issues of corruption, but in his playing years he was an absolute star and such an inspiration for many young players.

This coup is different to the ones in the Sahel. It's actually closer to the one in Zimbabwe, comparatiely. Gabon doesn't have a history of coups, and the army have relatively peacefully removed a head of state that was in essence a dynasty. It's been met with cheers from the population so far, a se...

Sables should call him up ASAP Mavesere before he get's pinched. Apart from pride, I don't think there's much draw to play for the Sables. From what I've seen most players get a few caps and then have to retire and focus on their real career, or they push to get a signing with a club down south or ...

I think we should start all four scrumhalves.
Damien de Allende at 6.
Our bench entirely of forwards.
Play with 14 so we get used to being a man down.

Shat the bed last time in Bok jersey Not sure he can be trusted Bit of a Gaffie mentality about him That's a bit harsh. It was in 2018, he came off the bench into a team that had 13 new caps. So in schools and at junior level, running rugby is encouraged? Has that always been the case.. or more of a recent thing? It's always been the case, even when I was playing school and club rugby. The climate is perfect for running rugby. That's partly why a lot of Bok fans become frustrating with ...

That is a strong team.
Given the team and the result from the weekend, it's insane we can put out two vastly different teams in the space of a week.
A win for the Boks would be a massive statement for the world cup.
