Re: Official Springboks thread
Is that cup up for grabs again in this Wales clash? What happens if we lose it? Do we have to keep playing the holders until we win it back? What if they don't want to play outside of the test window again? Glad we beat the All Blacks last time then I guess. I f**king hate this part of the game. It...

Re: Official Springboks thread
Not sure why we keep arranging these out of window tests. Money grab? Yep. I think the fact that it's called the Qatar Airways Cup gives that away. Anyway, as double world cup champions we have an obligation to appease our victory-hungry fans. There are plenty of Bok fans in London that will make i...

Re: Official Springboks thread
I read somewhere yesterday that our overseas based Boks (or Europe based) won't be available for the Wales test.
That will make the team selection interesting. URC players only.

They remind me of the Democrats in the US. Just being normal and avoiding dramas should be enough, but they always find a way to stuff it up.

Re: Interesting article in the Times about White Flight to South Africa
I doubt EFF will do as well as last time considering the Zuma's party will probably drain a lot of votes from them and the ANC. I don't see Zuma's party making much of an impact outside of KZN. But I do think the EFF numbers are going to go up again. I just hope like hell the DA can avoid any more ...

With all due respect, I live in Sandton and have done for 20 years. I sit on my suburbs security committee which is connected to others nearby but most importantly to the Sandton CPF. Serious crimes are reported throughout the various channels. I drive, walk and run (a lot) all over Johannesburg an...

Ah yes, we're back to this predictable old chestnut. Making assumptions of a person based on their geographical location, as if that has any bearing on their knowledge.

My reading of that figure is that’s the total amount over the entire period, not just one year. I think also most left in the early 2000s Yes, but it's still a lot of people considering the skill level they are at. These aren't casual labourers, these are engineers, doctors, designers, bankers, etc...

Re: Interesting article in the Times about White Flight to South Africa
In 2020, cumulative South African emigrants amounted to roughly 915,000. The vast majority settled in the United Kingdom (around 247,000), followed by Australia (nearly 200,000). Together, the two countries constituted roughly 49 percent of the total South African migrants living abroad. https://ww...

I'm a retiree. Also, a person of no colour. Or insufficient colour at least. Am I being desperately, so-five-minutes ago uncool for not considering a relocation to dot za? It's an amazing place to retire, in my opinion. There are many beautiful towns and cities around the country (with golf courses...

Re: Interesting article in the Times about White Flight to South Africa
Crime is off the scales if you live in townships. I recall two incidents in my suburb near Sandton in the last 3 years (bearing C19 in mind): 1) Someone prised windows bars open and stole some jewellery whilst neighbours were out 2) Twat stole someone's wall light directly under their camera. I can...

Re: Interesting article in the Times about White Flight to South Africa
I still want to head back to SA one day, probably when my lads get to university age. But the prospect scares me a bit. Of all the places I've lived, worked and travelled to, the crime is just off the scales in South Africa. And simply "avoiding" those places and pretending crime doesn't happen does...

Strangely it's fairly evident here in Joyannesburg. Although, the returnees tend to not be more recent leavers. Also, a lot of Indian and Far East peoples coming here looking for opportunities. I'm sure this is the same elsewhere in Africa. Very few people from my matric class of 2000 are still in ...

Re: Interesting article in the Times about White Flight to South Africa
I read the article last night. It's utter nonsense. They don't provide a shred of evidence other than hearsay and opinions from a f*cking real estate company. I'm very surprised the Times would run a story like that. All the metrics point towards South Africa being in a worst position now than every...

I honestly think this was peak rugby. Both teams at their absolute peak, packed with talent. That was probably the best Bok team to ever play, in my opinion. Better than 07, 19 or 23 WC teams.

I haven't been this optimistic about the future of Bok rugby in my lifetime. For once we are coming out of a RWC cycle without drama. 2019 should have been like that as well, but Covid in conjunction with the Lions tour realy derailed our player development pipeline and we couldn't really capitalis...

The Sharks also have Jurenzo Julius who is highly rated. I don't like to see SA teams lose but seeing the Sharks this season and this type of recruitment does give me a smile. One of the better buys from the Sharks and I understand the need to purchase big name players. Just think the Sharks overdo this and dont rely enough on talent coming through to meet the needs. Who would want to be a young prop/hooker/centre at the Sharks, your chances of taking a step up are not g...

Sorry Joe van Niekerk. Ja he was a special talent but he never got there. End up in a Rasta Jamaican lately Just because he didn't get 100 caps for the Boks doesn't mean he never got there. 122 caps for Toulon is a massive achievement, something most players can only dream of. I saw him on tv a few...

I do have a small concern over Flannery.
Harlelquins aren't exactly renowned for their defence. I know it's part of their style of play to be very loose, but still.

What are you talking about? Razor wanted Brown for his coaching team but Tony had already aligned with Joseph, who missed out. SA already have a track record of picking overseas coaches, so this isn’t yet another great show of insight from the coaching savant. I don't think anyone can claim to have...
