Re: RWC QF 2: All Blacks vs France: October 17: Cardiff
Nice to see Savea find some form. Still held the ball in the wrong arm, EVERY SINGLE TIME though. :x Contrast that with Nehe Two Dads who held the ball in the correct arm and then swapped it after his step away from the covering defenders. I don't understand why they don't correct it. Sometimes it ...

I for one don't care if he did fake it. As long as we win. I'd be more than happy for us to shamefully cheat our way to victory, with officals favouring us and the opposition decimated with so many injuries that they have to run on several of the Taranaki under-7 School Girls side (well th...

That's true. 5m in goals are not conducive to all the rugby football arts. They're pretty irrelevant in rugby these days. So few meaningful kicks into the in goal (and when they are, they tend to be little stabs meant to just dribble over the line) as it is such a low percentage play - the ball goi...

Re: Another fantastic day at a fantastic World Cup
The massive irony is England has put on a fvcking masterclass world cup. And their own team has gone out in the pool stages. Say what you like about the English, but no one puts on a show better. They could organise an orgy in the Vatican and get the pope to endorse it. The real dilemma would be: a...

Was wondering why the Aussies didn't mix up their "pickies" with a few buffaloes. After seeing their attempts to pass, I realised why.
Not a bad try that.

I imagine the proportion of utter cunts in our game is pretty much in line with the proportion of utter cunts in society. Certainly haven't seen much evidence to the contrary.

I also expect that they will see a massive improvement in their national side. Far more so than if they had multiple teams in the competition. Playing an extra 15 or so games a year as a squad will be huge.

Having been gouged a couple of times while playing, I agree any reckless or deliberate contact with the eye should be punished severely. It's a far nastier experience than other incidents of foul play - would take being punched, stamped on, kicked or head butted any day.

I've just got back from the game. Shit stadium, but... I really feel Namibia ought to be given more credit. They defended like absolute lions and had the fitness to keep trying for 80 mins. Their try was pure quick ball rugby. Sure, NZ never hit anywhere near 100%, but Namibia were constantly at th...

While it wasn't champagne rugby, I am quite happy with the way the All Blacks played that game. They played structured rugby and resisted temptation to throw the ball around too much. Was hoping Savea was going to put in a better performance, but he didn't impress. Couple of shelled high balls and d...

If you removed all the people from a rugby game who participated in activities that various factions of the bored consider boganish or c-untish, you would have about 7 people in the crowd, no one officiating and no players. Rugby has always had booing. Hell, it was where I first learned about booing as a kid.
I find the whole "holier than thou, it should be a gentleman's game" brigade far worse than the boo-ers.

It's South Africa. There will be prayer circles. A fair amount of horribly overcooked meat will be eaten. Someone will blame it on the homosexuals. Then they'll pray a bit more and get on with the job.

It was much like Canada's recent loss to Japan. Worth a brief bit of spite, but at the end of the day there just isn't that much mileage to be gained from minnows losing to minnows.EverReady wrote:I think I sort of do remember it now- definitely should have had a better crack off it

The two bonus points SA got still leaves them as favourites to top the pool if the rest of the games go to the expected script (SA winning out fairly comfortably and Scotland and Samoa playing each other for the last spot).
If SA continue to play badly however, it will open right up.

I only watched the last 10 minutes, but they said the scrum in the 75th minute was Japan's first and only the second of the game. A few minutes later one of them said something about how well Japan had scrummaged during the game, so take it with a grain of salt. Edit: the scrum in question may have ...

What would his body height be like at the breakdown/collision zone? Like any non-Rugby players it would be terrible, and it would take him at least 12 months of intensive coaching and training to become proficient in engaging with rucks and mauls. For starters the only position I could see him hand...

"Costume play". Dress up for adults. Raiders signed Aldon Smith  Happy with that as a Raiders fan. He was a great player, but has been a walking sick note in recent years. Think he's managed about 5 games in 3 years, with 3 shoulder and 2 knee recons and hammy issues. Great potential if he can stay fit though.

Would like to catch the Maiden tour in Japan, if it happens to fall into a decent window when I'm in the area next year.
Might go to Sabbath as well if the tour pulls through SEA and it's fairly cheap.
Otherwise I will be keeping an eye out for Bangkok death/thrash metal fests.
