Re: U20 6 Nations 2024
That yellow card was an utterly bizarre decision. Trapped, not lying over the ball, middle of the field, given away less penalties than Wales ap not on a team warning... Yellow  what did she say? Somehting like "you made a really good attempt to get at the way, and then did something stupid"?...

Wales will rue not taking that chance at the end...but they're still somehow in a game they have no right to be in.

He was at the Ospreys for years, and although he was never bad, he seemed to be exactly what he appeared to be, a squad filler player who plugged gaps as and when needed. His performances certainly never made the Ospreys consider they needed to make him a guaranteed starter, let alone a starter at I...

Re: Jeff's All New And Uneasy Wales Ratings v Scotland
Triffic thread Jeff To me, the first half looked like classic Warren-ball. Getting nowhere in the middle third after a max of 3 rucks? Hoof it away. Conservative rugby where possession and/or territory are the only things that matter (as opposed to creativity and/or physicality)...and the thing tha...

Re: Jeff's All New And Uneasy Wales Ratings v Scotland
I think age is probably not as important as experience in this conversation. Take Domachowski for example. He's 27, which is a decent age, but that was his first ever start...thats more important.

Re: England Vs Wales • Official Match Thread • 6Nations 2024
Preparing myself mentally for England to work out how to play rugby again. I don't think we can put out a significantly better side than the one that almost caused the Scotch to capitulate, so I'm expecting the HQ factor to be too much for this callow Welsh squad. England by 10+. I don't think they...

Re: Can Italy beat Ireland?
Italy were the most disappointing team of the World Cup for me. They played some lovely rugby during last years 6N, only to seemingly completely abandon it surfing the World Cup. It was nice to see that they are once again weaving pretty patterns in the back lines, and it can't be long before they m...

Re: Jeff's All New And Uneasy Wales Ratings v Scotland
Winnett and Dyer a point too low for me, with Dyer maybe two. James 'Liam' Botham didn't have a great game but did win us the penalty that started our rally and scored a try so I'd give him an extra point for those two things. Tompkins surely deserves something a little more for a good second half?...

Re: Jeff's All New And Uneasy Wales Ratings v Scotland
I'm going to sound like a broken record here, but I suspect even SBW and Nonu would have struggled at centre in that first half. Costelow and Davies destroyed anything that our backs might have offered the game, through slow and erratic service. Gaz Davies has just about enough credit in the bank t...

Jeff's All New And Uneasy Wales Ratings v Scotland
15. Cam Winnett - Half decent debut. Nothing flash, took his high balls and there was some lovely drawing and passing. Still have my doubts about a 80kg soaking wet fullback at International level, but we've got no one else, so we will have to persevere. 6/10 14. Rio Dyer - Ran up a couple of blind ...

Re: Wales Vs Scotland Official 6N Match Thread 2024
No idea whether you could see it on the TV or not, but the Scotch were gassed in that second half. Every stoppage was hands on thighs and taking a knee. They looked incredibly poorly conditioned. That's what it looked like to me. Their defensive effort in the second half wa so poor because they wer...

Re: Wales Vs Scotland Official 6N Match Thread 2024
Wales in possession were running into brick walls, they've just got nothing. Having said that- Scotland are a very good side. We've got the most destructive post contact carrier in the URC(saffers included) and he wasn't even selected for the squad. Gatland still believes defence and kicking wins g...

Re: Wales Vs Scotland Official 6N Match Thread 2024
Wales have been very patchy, sometimes they do play a bit when they have the ball but there seems to be no coherent plan. Scotland much the opposite, they are playing some good rugby and seem to have a well directed plan that the players can execute. Oh, there's definitely a plan...its called kick ...

There wasn't one try that was borne of superior tactical thinking, or execution. We seem to have this revolving doo...

Hype for Pollock's been there for a long time. Best 7 I've seen playing Eng U18s in the last 15 years or so. All four props and starting hooker Craig White are pretty exciting. You could write the Welsh U20 story before each and every 6N...soft as shite front 5, decent backrow, nippy scrum half, solid big centres and some attacking flair in the back 3.
Each. And. Every. Time.

Darge is co-cap’n and he’s not even on the bench? Is he injured? Am I the only one who thinks having three captains on the park is a bit weird? No, it’s bizarre. To me that screams of big egos and the coach not having the balls to tell some players that they're not captaon/vice captain.

You can't play Grady at 13 against the scots, he'd be cut to pieces and they would target him relentlessly. Now they'll also gut fudge Watkin but I don't give a shit about him taking a media shit storm as opposed to the best physical specimen Wales has produced. I don't know with all this 'there's ...

I'm torn. I want to be able to read online reports about another Scots false dawn, really I do, if only to take my mind off what I anticipate might be some chastening headlines of our own, but then that'd mean Gatland has yet again managed to forge a team bafflingly better than the sum of its parts...

Watched the Beekeeper over the weekend. If you like A. Jason Statham, and B. The general plot to John Wick, then this movie is for you...if you do not however, this is a generic knockoff elevated by some decent action sequences.

You'll never reach the reputation of 1990s Irish passion, so overused in commentary by Nigel Starmer Smith when Ireland did a spectacular kick and chase. It was so patronising not helped by our own such as Mick Doyle saying shit like " Give it a lash". Passion equals shit as far as I'm concerned. I...
