Wow! The pro12 viewing figures in Wales? 180,000 http://m.southwales-eveningpost.co.uk/photos/article/15919648 It's as popular just within Wales as the AP is within England. (yes that's free to air, but BT sports is free to many) but it's 3 million vs 55 million. Ther's no per capita in that, just ...

No... that's why the channel was launched i'm fairly sure they want it to succeed. and their aim is to get broadband, telephone and now TV subscribers. Putting Welsh Rugby on their channel, would probably be the most arm twisting thing they could do to a Welshman. It would help them achieve their ai...

Using iuls logic we should kick Romania out of the world cup I'm not sure where you got that from. Again, if the AP were to merge with the Pro12 the English clubs would get a smaller sum than they currently do, by about a third, I estimate. That's a simple fact, and it's why, regardless of how good...

And here is a sobering thought. How many of those Welshmen who tune in to the Pro12, also watch the AP on BT? They are rugby fans, they show up in the UK figures i'd wager it's substantial. Who is subsidising who?

Re: Meritocracy
There is not a massive appetite for watching rugby on TV in England. The casual armchair sports fans have wall to wall football coverage and are happy with this. You never ever see rugby on in a pub, there is no way you would ever see club rugby in a pub in 99% of pubs in England. The 6 Nations ran...

Re: Meritocracy
Given the arguments presented here it's a wonder the Pro 12 broadcast rights deal isn't the envy of the T14 or AP. Because A) Wales doesn't give a fudge about it. B) None of the nations have a big population. C) The AP broadcast deal is hardly warranted is it? The AP benefited from a pissing contes...

Re: Meritocracy
We really are in danger of killing off the game with the continued centralisation of power and cash into the hands of a few rich business men. Surely the aim of the leagues and cup competitions is to support the whole game and ensure we have competitive national teams and competitions. If we allow ...

The British league - how would that work? The mind boggles? You'd have to have at least 8 English teams? I doubt new franchises could be 'built'? 8 English 2 Scottish 3 Welsh 3 Irish The obvious problem is that it hangs NGD, Connacht, Italians and 6 English teams out to dry? Would there be an Briti...

A British league will harness a huge market, differing styles and build upon well-estAblished and nascent rivalries. It will also provide a more sustainable alternative to the clusterfuck that is the Top-14. This suggested British League is nothing more than a cash grab by the usual suspects at the...

Is it easier for unskilled kiwis to lodge in Australia, rather than those equivalents from PNG? 6roucho? Yes, because we have a treaty with New Zealand, like the UK does with the EU, that allows the free movement of people between the two countries. Norwegian citizens can't freely emigrate to the U...

Looking at the Wales group, the goal is to get 20 points. To me it looks like they will get 18 at best with 2 wins 2 losses and a draw. That is the best case scenario tbh I'm not sure 20 points will be needed, you do know that 2nd place is automatic and 3rd place gets a playoff, the 3rd place with ...
