Not really. He played a few Currie Cup and Super Rugby games at 5. The intention seems to be to train him as a 5 but he played most of his rugby at 4 and 7. He started one game for the Boks - at 7

No reason to believe the Boks won't come good eventually although I suspect the politics both inside and outside of rugby in the Republic could be damaging, wait and see jobbie as far as that goes. The pack is more or less in place and there are enough decent backs around still to make a good fist ...

teams will now need to score at least three more tries than the opposition to secure a bonus point. This is the same system used in the French Top 14.
