I probably now ingest more nicotene than when I smoked , but then nicotene is not the direct cause of smoking harm , merely the bloody addictive element that convinces the addict to do more...

In regard to dense metals, working in a lab in a wood fibre mill we used to collect the mercury from the collection trap in the ClO 2 plant. Litres of it. Encasing a hand in the thickest rubber glove one could find, making a fist and submerging it in the container of Mercury was extremely difficult....
