You easing your way in with a few beers/wines atm globby? Had a walk through town at lunch and it's building up alright. Envious. There is literally no hype about rugby anywhere near me. :(( Where are you Hawk? Pop up to Oundle! I hope to survive the alcohol onslaught. Oundle, very nice! Alas, I'm ...

Houston, great diversity, Boots, world class Barbecue, a voice of over 60 rental handguns at Athena, the Rodeo, $16 steak night at the Front Porch and an entire city who find my accent "so cute". Houston deservedly get a bad rap for being an ugly sprawling city with congested freeways and no/limite...

If anyone has experience with both, which one should I visit out of New Orelans and Miami? I don't like Miami. Just don't. Enjoyed N.O. for the visit but wouldn't live there. During one of the festivals (madi gras or the like) it's f**k awesome. For me, no question it has to be N.O. If I was to go ...

Hawk, yeah I did. I really like a lot of cities, Hong Kong is amazing for example. But I will always love Newcastle. It may or may not be irrational but I don't care. Though it does tick a lot of the boxes in the poll Great nightlife, and the people are really nice. Apart from a certain cast-listin...

I am not familiar with this site and how it works. It's amazing how quickly Strava has established itself in cycling culture. Whilst I don't go "segment hunting", I always load up my data after a ride and see if I've figured on any of the segments. I think it's just that secretly, all cyclists always wondered how they stacked up. It really is inter...

Heading down to the borders tomorrow for a 55 mile route that takes in a local landmark called the Talla Linn climb. It's a 2.5 mile climb that averages 8.4% but the main problem is the first 800m which averages 23% . :(( ouch, that will hurt. What are you planning to use? 800m is too long to power...

Yeah, ended up as an outside back. Pretty quick over 60m. Do triathlons now and generally pretty strong on the bike in a TT style effort up to 40km or so. Just got back from a great three day cycling trip based in Leakey in the Texas Hill Country, it's a limited numbers catered/supported event (80 max) called the Leakey Death Ride. Weather was perfect - 50's overnight and low 80's later in the day, and no rain. Believe it or not the Texas Hill Country...

Re: How long in a sling for Broken Collarbone?
I've broken mine three times. Once was a small fracture which healed quickly and I was out of the sling in four weeks. The other two were complete breaks with some displacement, the first time (about 30 years ago) they left it to heal itself in a sling which resulted in some bone protrusion due to m...

Did my first cycle in about 10 years this morning. 80km in 4 hours, with about 70% of it flat. I´m at 2700m altitude and was on a mountain bike, but after this morning I think I´ll need to get a road bike, with plenty of people on racers flying past me. Was absolutely broken afterwards, knees, arse...
