Hume is a big blow to Ulster in fairness. Gaps are only opening up now that he's off.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I won't lie lads: I'm bulling here. TOH should retire after that missed tackle. I can't even remember who shot out of the line the cause that. Yeah I don’t blame you for being frustrated. Connacht have really fallen off the ten minutes either side of halftime. We can't even really use the excuse th...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Ulster deserved that. Moore, Andrew, McCann and Flannery are going very well.
Connacht need some shoeing up the hole at halftime. You know things are enormously fecked when Tiernan O'Halloran is the best out there in green so far.

Re: URCR1 Connacht v Ospreys
Connacht lads, who should we be looking out for this season? Forde, Darragh Murray, Shamus Hurley Langton and all going well Matt Devine. Not needing top 6 is a big bonus for Connacht with regards Zombie Champions Cup qualification but I think with the internationals are back we'd be looking for pl...

All JJ needs to do is keep up his goal-kicking without doing anything else and he'll be a huge step-up from post-Japan Carty.

I've no doubt I said Cathal Forde was a better form 12 for Connacht than Bundee but Christ above the latter is playing the best rugby of his life.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
I wouldn't be too downhearted yet if I was McCloskey. Henshaw after missing last week won't have enough gametime behind him and god forbid anything happens to Bundee he'd be straight in against the Boks. I'd have sooner seen JOB as 23 for Saturday though. Seems like potentially Farrell might fancy E...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
A few lads you'd expect to be leaders at this stage like Henshaw went missing in a big way in that first half.
No harm to get a scare like that but Healy's injury is a big blow to the bench.

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
You can really see the limitation of a lad like Stockdale on the wing for second receiver. It's not in his game at all so he's been just competing for aerial balls that have gone poorly.

Indeed, we won the All Ireland schools hurling comp 2 years ago, best school in Ireland, best school in Ireland, best school in Ireland - I have been to na Piarsaigh matches over the years but I wouldn't pretend to be hardcore about it. Anyhow, maybe I'm wrong on a Midlands stadium, but with PuC do...

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
Any Munster fan delighted to see a Leinster side that is basically the Ireland team playing in blue defeated is weird. Especially weeks out from a RWC where we might finally make an impact. This loss should be concerning for supporters all over this island. I'm not even a Munster fan but this stink...

I'm happy enough with that. Either Carty ponies up next year or we at least have a stop-gap till there's more availability in the 10's marketPorterbelly1 wrote: ↑Fri May 19, 2023 4:21 pm Didn’t see the JJ one coming but we did need a specialist 10 to compete with Carty. Interesting

Re: The Official Irish Rugby Thread
In fairness to Friend he left Connacht in a better place than he found it from Kieran Keane. I think he gets a bit too much credit in the media because they only get coverage for big interpro wins but he absolutely had his share of highs too. He's an absolute gent so hopefully whatever's next goes w...

Lineout went to absolute shite after Murray went off. He's the glue that gets the whole thing flowing. Bealham, Farrell and Hansen the other bright spots from a disappointing loss.

Fair fecks to Wilkins/Friend for that result tonight. I'd the season written off after the Ulster defeat at home but with a bit of luck and a big improvement they've almost secured Heineken Cup rugby and have a semi final to show for it. Wilkins gets a lot of gip from some of the Connacht lads on h...
