Yes. 14 fixtures left, so they could get up to 70 points which would put them on 28. Tigers are currently on 11.

In reality, no.

I rate sleightholme. Quick, always in the right place, very consistent for a young lad. Also worth bearing in mind he's 19 and in his first senior season.

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Aha, I knew I'd gotten my nines mixed up - I thought Taylor was Mitchell, who I thought was a big prospect. Silly mistake to make. Yeah, you're fine there then. Big fan of Furbank, just worried that Mallinder might represent the bad old Saints a bit too much - i.e. a talented flake who doesn't make...

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

That was comfortably the worst I've seen Taylor play this season, though. And Mitchell is probably the better player. Tupai also looks a good prospect.

Only recruitment I would do in the backs is one more fullback/winger.

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Saints have lost both Hartley and Brussow to retirement this season, that would free up a fair bit of the cap (possibly, I'm not entirely sure how it works). Brussow was the second marquee; not sure if anyone will have replaced him or not in that spot. For a long time Dylan was the first marquee, b...

Re: Sarries facing automatic relegation

I said back at the beginning of the season that this would be a big problem. Saracens can't just offload players, they have contracts. Presumably they needed to find players who were happy to move and then waive the transfer fee?

Re: **OFFICIAL** English Rugby Thread

Saints about to win a fairly undeserved BP victory. Severals players a bit pants, Mallinder pressed into 15 and poor positioning on several occasions, Matavesi with a terrible lineout. Probably most key to the poor first half for my money though was Taylor at scrumhalf, responsible for a fair few of...

To make a genuine criticism of Karl Dickson, he's much too lenient on the tackler slowing down the ball on the ground and also not at all generous to the jackaling defender. The two things don't cancel out, and both lead to a messy breakdown and a stop-start game.

Sale leading Saints at the AJ Bell, but Ashton is playing his last game for a couple of weeks - a hit to the face and finger in the eyes of a prone Matt Proctor at the ruck, who subsequently went off for an HIA. Bizarrely it was replayed on the screen but Sale still got the penalty.

Just went back to watch the 'incidents'. The first two you would struggle to call penalties, last one is a borderline yellow because it's late and the tackle rides up, but there's no way it's a red. For what it's worth, I agree that with a full strength Saints pack it would have been within 2 tries. There's a gigantic drop off from the first choices, going from internationals to 20 year old academy players.

Saints pack is too lightweight across the board. Tuala at fullback could be a weak link. The rest of the backline is decent, but they won't see any ball - Leinster could just kick the corners and dominate the set piece, not to mention the gainline and the ruck.
