Re: The Training Thread
I started Body For Life this week, 12 weeks of intense training and a high protein diet.
Last time I managed 6 weeks and lost 18kgs for my wedding, so this time I'm hoping to lose 20 kg and look ribbed.
Only Day 4 and I'm so tired and so hungry but once the first week is done the rest flies by.

Very enjoyable, might have lacked the budget that Beijing had but can't fault them on creativity. Good showcase of British music too
Serious question: what was with French being spoken before English by the announcers? Seems a bit odd.

Perhaps SARU should conduct an investigation into why young players are leaving WP.
It's one thing to lose them to provinces that look after them better, but another to lose them to overseas clubs.

Re: Springboks vs. England - Test 1 - Official Match Thread!
The one thing that bugs me about this match is the try at the end. Although we dominated the second half, we let England finish on a high. This reminds me of the Lions tour, when we won the first test but allowed them some momentum at the end which they carried very well into the second test.

Re: Springboks vs. England - Test 1 - Official Match Thread!
I was ripping my hair out at half time but in hindsight I'm quite happy with that game. It was always a big ask playing a good England team with so little preparation, but that second half was very impressive. Hard to pick a MOTM, so many players had good games. My pick would be Alberts, his perform...

Re: Springboks vs. England - Test 1 - Official Match Thread!
England vs South Africa test matches are always a testing time for me and my English wife. For 80 minutes she will increase the abuse that she normally hurls at me, her Essex accent will become stronger and she will use her intricate knowledge of South African rugby (that I bestowed upon her) to her...

Re: Springboks vs. England - Test 1 - Official Match Thread!
After watching the Baby Boks and hearing about the Scots win over Australia, I've got a bad feeling about this game. This must be the shortest amount of time a Bok team has had to prepare for a test match, and half the players must be completely exhausted from the S15. Hopefully a blitz in the first...

How strange.
He was playing some great rugby for the Cheetahs, making a huge impact off the bench.
That and the fact that Wasps are going down the drain financially.

Re: The Training Thread
Interesting, cheers.
I've started a new session today which involves doing 5 burpees followed by a 40m sprint, got up to 30 burpees and 6 sprints.
I started with pushups but it completely killed me, so perhaps I'll stick to just a few and then work more into my routine.

I did my legs on Monday and I've got a weird problem. Near the end of my set I did some calf raises (the seated ones with padded bar above the knees), and went pretty heavy. I'm reading this at the moment: It's a tad disjointed (deliberately so, it would seem, ie I don't think it's intended to present a comprehensive argument) and a bit under-referenced even for my straightforward tastes, but interesting enough and a nice easy read, as you'd expect. I've read Michael W...
