Re: SA D side vs NZ A team test cricket
South Africa are all over this.
Can the Blackcaps keep this respectable and restrict a deficit to less than 50?
Meanwhile, congratulations to Henry Nichols for a cracking century in domestic cricket today.

Re: SA D side vs NZ A team test cricket
South Africa’s shrewdly selected side for NZ conditions are well in the fight. Let’s have no more of this C or D side talk nonsense.

South Africa are looking solid. Mind you, that’s helped by Southee starting the year looking anything but threatening.

Re: Super Rugby gets rid of kick tennis
I think this is preemptive for Super Rugby to prevent a possible problem (and hopefully be a step that follows globally).
Its a good move.

Re: SA D side vs NZ A team test cricket
Early days but the Blackcaps win has moved them to top of the Test Championship table. Hopefully they can consolidate the position in test two before Australia arrives for the marquee series of the summer.

Re: SA D side vs NZ A team test cricket
Daryl Mitchell is out for the Blackcaps so we can probably consider everything all square on the team level front.
On test two, what’s up with a Tuesday start? Do they want to make it as hard as possible for people to attend with most days during the working week?

Re: SA D side vs NZ A team test cricket
Well done Black Craps. Just checked the scorecard and saw Williamson has 2 centuries this match, then dug a bit further and found out he has 29 in total and a test average of 54. Didn't realise he had those kinds of stats, that's a very decent record, must be the GOAT Kiwi batter? Can't think of an...

Re: SA C side vs NZ A team test cricket
This is the start of our test summer which is already late and we have Australia still to come so rescheduling wouldn’t have been possible. The tour had been set well before the domestic T20 schedule anyway, hadn’t it?

Saffers should be banned from test cricket to be honest. This tour is just a total fuck-up. Why bother to send a team? Re: SA C side vs NZ A team test cricket
Was there much discussion about this team in SA? What did people make of the domestic T20 taking priority?
I would be in two minds if roles were reversed. I would want my team to do well but a couple of chastising losses may make this less likely to happen again.

Re: SA C side vs NZ A team test cricket
I like watching De Swardt. It reminds me of the good old days of Nathan Astle and Craig McMillam getting through overs for the NZ attack - although, McMillan probably had about 10km and a lot of pent up aggression on him. De Swardt is doing a job without a spinner. He has been tidy and has created a...

Re: SA C side vs NZ A team test cricket
Nice try. Should NZ declare at 1000 runs or keep batting on? Bat till tea on day five, then bowl them out twice. Something like this. Any rain forecast? Perfect weather forecast for all five days at the moment. NZ will want a big score and the weather to dry things out. If that happens South Africa...

South Africa boast the two highest first-class wicket takers in this match. I hope the less credentialed Blackcap bowlers can stick to their task and not be overawed when they get a chance later on.

Henry F###ing Nicholls has missed selection for the South Africa test series with Ravindra preferred instead.
Rachin Ravindra has celebrated this by being bowled cheaply by a little known Canterbury domestic bowler in the Super Smash.
